TexasTerror Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 This was in their paper -- apparently, you guys are respected in the "basketball world" along with SHSU and SFA. "They've beaten us at home, Bob Marlin's a great coach, so we've got a well-coached team coming in that's already beaten us twice," Tech head coach Pat Knight said. "It's not like they're going to have a confidence problem. We're not going to scare them at all. ... Some people might not know about (Sam Houston) outside of basketball, but in the basketball world, teams like Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin and Lamar - teams from the Southland (Conference) - are very well-respected."
Guest coachacola Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Coaches always talk up their opponents, especially since SHSU beat them last year and LU gave them a tough game at their place. This year Tech plays 4 SLC teams: LU, SHSU, SELA, and SFA so that should be interesting, although LU get's them in Beaumont while everyone else goes to Lubbock to play them. At least Tech isn't playing the cupcakes of the SLC.
badndn Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Tech has struggled against the SLC in recent years. I could see a couple losses in their 4 game set with the SLC. Wonder how that will set with the Knight regime? ;D
