Central and Lockhart are tied 7-7 at halftime of a Class 4A Division II area round playoff game at Jack Hughes Stadium in Katy.

Lockhart opened to a 7-0 lead, but Central's Charlie Thomas evened the score with a 18-yard touchdown run on which he tiptoed down the sideline.

Central forced two straight three-and-outs and chipped its way down the field to the Lockhart 25 but lost the ball on an interception with 50 seconds left in the half. Central has two turnovers, the other being a fumble after Lockhart's game-opening touchdown.

Central has 130 rushing yards. Lockhart has 85 rushing yards, 75 of which are Dominique Hardaway.

The Central band is on the field, and the fans on the Lockhart side are bobbing their heads to the beat.

Central leads 21-7 after a 38-yard touchdown pass by Mike Richard to Keenan Allison with 5:56 left in the third quarter. Richard rolled to his right and found Allison wide open on a down-and-out route near the 20-yard line. Central has forced three punts since Lockhart scored the game-opening touchdown, so let's see if they can get another one.
