Guest wos grad Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 Three West Orange-Stark Players on Radar By Burnt Orange Beat Staff Co-Publisher Posted Nov 22, 2008 The West Orange-Stark Mustangs handled Caldwell Friday night at WoodForest Stadium in The Woodlands by a score of 37-7. The Longhorns are recruiting three West Orange-Stark players in junior CB/WR Trey Franks, junior WR James Haynes and stud sophomore WR Mark Roberts. Burnt Orange Beat was there to scout all three prospects. Trey Franks is 5-9, 170 with legitimate 4.5 speed and quicks. He played with a cast on his arm Friday night. Trey’s brother, Kerry, played at Texas A&M and his brother Jacoby played at Texas Tech. James Haynes is 6-1, 185 and runs a legitimate low 4.5's. Haynes is an exceptional leaper. Haynes took an unofficial visit to the Texas-Oklahoma State game. Texas Tech has already offered Haynes. Wide receiver Mark Roberts is 6-3, 185 and runs in the 4.5's. Roberts is one of the top sophomores in the state of Texas.
Guest Brubaker Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 How does WOS not play for the state championship every year???
Guest wos grad Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 Good question. We've been through that a million times, playcalling has been a problem in big games but it looks like that may be getting better.
Guest Orangeboy Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 This is the only time in my life I actually root for Mustangs!
griff Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 How does WOS not play for the state championship every year??? Because the competition is stiff and there are other really good teams out there. The "most talented" teams don't always win. There are too many intangibles to the game of football. Why doesn't Southlake Carroll win it every year? Why doesn't Katy win it every year? Why doesn't Northshore win it every year? Why doesn't LaMarque win it every year? That's football...
Guest Brubaker Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 I didn't say win it, I said play for it, or get to the final four... just a head scratcher for me.

Things happen in football.
Guest rykerx144 Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 tell them to stay away from Tech lol
Gabe Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 Trey Franks had an INT, a fumble recovery and chased down that qb on the 75 yard run with that cast on his hand too. The pass was a major duck floating through the air but he still went up and got it.
Gasilla Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 WOW! Three studs and all players who need to have their hands on the ball at least 4-5 times a game. These guys are game breakers.
jr1979 Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 there's also a stud qb waiting in the wings and will be highly sot after. he 's only a sophomore and plays in games when we are up by a bunch. wears the # 12, with the last name Garrett. Congrats to these three on there production up to this point.
Tiger90 Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 My understanding is a certain Tiger may be throwing for them as well.

Teams already knows it that's why they are getting an early jump on recruiting him. I watched him as a Freshman and in my opinion he was already better than most of the receivers we had on varsity. He should get alot more passes next year. The Reggie Garrett to Mark Roberts tandum will be deadly. The scary part for other teams is that they will also have Trey Franks and James Haynes back as well. Throw in Darius Robinson and Freshman Britton Lindsey in at running back and Wo-s might be even better next year.

Poise under pressure, a rifle for an arm and might have better speed than Hypo.

WTB Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Texas isnt recruiting Jermie Johnson anymore. their QB targets are Conner Wood, Nash Nance and Tyler Arnedt. I dont think they are gonna offer Franks ethier but Haynes is one of the top players on their list
cardinals4life Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 wtb will you post the website you found that information from i would like to see the whole list
GOT HEART? WE DO Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Congrats to all three WOS players
Guest Orangeboy Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Who is recruiting Jeremy Johnson, have always enjoyed watching this kid play.
GUNHO Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 My understanding is a certain Tiger may be throwing for them as well. What Tiger is that? It will be hard to sit Reggie Garrett down. I think he was talking about UT TAM.

That's football... too many times, too many people on each team want the personal glory. it has to be about the team.. not about yourself. not saying this is why, but its a strong posibility.

WTB Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 www.orangebloods.com they are recruiting him but I dont think they are gonna offer him. If they do offer it will be as an athlete. Now they did jump on Dugat late so never say never but recruiters will keep tabs on kids then they are in there area. Major recruits the golden triangle and I know Haynes will probably get a junior day offer. They also like Earl Hines but they have 3 or 4 other LBs they like alittle more (Corey Nelson, Aaron Benson, Jordan Hicks) and maybe Kurt Killiens.
