Lamar University football coach Ray Woodard did something at the Cardinals basketball game against Denver Saturday night that had not happened in Beaumont in 20 years. Woodard and his staff entertained football recruits — 15 junior college players —, including six from Kilgore, four from Navarro, three from Mississippi and two from Trinity Valley. The signing date for JC players is Dec. 17, so you have to figure basketball coach Steve Roccaforte wasn’t the only one using a full court press. Woodard’s staff will host its first wave of schoolboy recruits the weekend of Dec. 12-13, with Lamar’s basketball game against Texas Tech serving as the backdrop.

know quite a few ppl from there, and most of the starters sign D1!

Other schools in the SLC get them from Blinn regularly...I mean, we are "D1" programs.
