Lightning/Eagle Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 This should be a heck of a 4A game. Both teams 12-0
stang4life Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 Is Gilbert (LT's QB) a senior yet? Where's he going?
dayton Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 Is Gilbert (LT's QB) a senior yet? Where's he going? Yes.......... UT
Guest TravelingBandsman Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 how has Alice been...do they have a chance
B.M.F. Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 ummm...nope. the coyotes get blown out
BigWolf10 Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 Gilbert ran for a bunch of yards last game I heard. Wind was blowing and affecting the passing game so he added another dimension.
hornets85 Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 Don't under estimate those South Texas boys they have played some tough teams this year
B.M.F. Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 Who have they played? Again, Lake Travis in a romp.

stang4life Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 Lake Travis has a very nice school and athletic set-up. Is Gilbert's dad a coach anywhere?
ozensfinest Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 i say lake travis wins state again........
KFDM COOP Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 I say your probably right!!! That QB and passing game is unreal!
ozensfinest Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 yeah that gilbert kid has broken almost every record in texas probably one of the best offenses in texas history if ya ask me
KFDM COOP Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 One of the best i've ever seen in High School! Their recievers are great to.
liltex Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Starting them out young w/great Qb's teaching them.Chris Gilbert led Texas to a win over Ole Miss in the late 60's against Qb Archie Manning in the Hoston Bluebonnet Bowl-Boomer Aiasion(mispelled)taught his son a UT qb also.Garrett Gilbert is good because hours & hours were spent w/him growing up.It is the parents responsibility to teach fundementals-The coach to futher develop them.I like Lake Travis by 20.

As I recall, Chris Gilbert was a half-back (running back in today's vernacular) at the University of Texas. Did he really teach his son the QB skills that the son possesses?
liltex Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 As a parent do you teach your children how to pitch. If they have no clue how can they be coached when the time is now.I had some kids and would pitch easy to them and they would run from it when I coached many years.Parents then want to get on your case for not starting them.I would tell the parent you have neglected your kid about fundementals.Good kid-Your fault.I do not even know if the 2 Gilbert's are related, both live in the area.I was making a point about teaching.Archie Manning did rather well at it and they put on alot of training camps for QB's.Garret is the best I have seen, but like T.Bradshaw you gotta have some great recievers too.
stevieray Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Garrett Gilbert is the son of Gale Gilbert who played QB in the NFL for the Chargers, Seahawks, and Bills.....Here's an interesting note, Gale was the starting QB for Cal during the historic game against Stanford..."The Play"

Javelina Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Just cause you have not seen Alice play don't dismiss them that easy. Their backs are quick and have speed. There Qb hits his marks and can go deep. The team overall has speed and size. I spent all last week down in Alice visiting a friend and went to the Mission and Ray playoff games and they were not even close. I am going with Alice in this one.

rollinac Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Gonna have to agree...there's not a better offense in the state of Texas than Lake Travis. All they have to do is make you punt once. I don't think anyone beats them.
hornets85 Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Look at the records of the teams alice has played some have only one lose to alice don't count them out

Then there's always those Trinity Trojans(since you're all up on LT).....
