KFDM COOP Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 Astros Get Minor League Lefty Lumsden From Royals HOUSTON (AP) - The Houston Astros today acquired minor league pitcher Tyler Lumsden from the Kansas City Royals -- for a player to be named, or cash. The 25-year-old lefty went 3-13 with a 7.21 ERA in 28 games this season, including 18 starts, for Triple-A Omaha. Lumsden is playing in the Puerto Rican Winter League and is 0-1 with a 9.64 ERA in four games. General manager Ed Wade acknowledged that Lumsden's numbers weren't good, but he said Astros scouts think Lumsden has potential. Lumsden is 26-25 with a 4.89 ERA in 95 career minor league appearances. He was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the June 2004 draft, then acquired by the Royals along with Daniel Cortes for Mike MacDougal in July 2006.
