UNLV Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 We beat Ohio, yet they are still ranked +20 higher than us by Sagarin. Waiting on pomeroy to update...
TexasTerror Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 When do we start putting more stock in the RPI? I was once told that you pay attention to Sagarin earlier and then switch to RPI as the season goes along... RPI has them at 41 and Cards at 46.
UNLV Posted December 7, 2008 Author Report Posted December 7, 2008 When do we start putting more stock in the RPI? I was once told that you pay attention to Sagarin earlier and then switch to RPI as the season goes along... RPI has them at 41 and Cards at 46. I don't put stock in any of them. I just like to see where others see us and for conversation purpose. BTW, I notice you were quick to post our lost to Kentucky but didn't post our win over a top 50 team on katfans...
TexasTerror Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 I added the win to our OOC listing... Worth noting, quotes from TXST's head coach after their loss to Rice... "If we think we're going to outscore Texas, we're crazy." "We didn't stop anybody, ever." "We didn't play any team defense. I don't think Rice will score 100 points the rest of the year."
UNLV Posted December 7, 2008 Author Report Posted December 7, 2008 Terror, the RPI has SHSU ranked 317.... As much as I love for it to be true, SHSU is not 317...
UNLV Posted December 7, 2008 Author Report Posted December 7, 2008 Lady cards ranked 109....ofcourse the team we just beat, ULM, is ranked 63.....
Guest coachacola Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 I think the Sagarin and Pomeroy ratings are suppose to be more accurate at this time in the season than the RPI the NCAA uses. But because the SLC is so weak overall, any conference loss really drags down these ratings. Whoever makes it to the NCAAs need to have a rating better than 100 for any hope for a 14 seed.
