CRUSHCOACH
Great way to start off District ! Way to go Lady Bears. Very good game even though neither team shot very well.
Slam14
HUGE win for the Lady Bears! ;D Congrats to the players and coaches. Even though the effort and intensity were there, the Bears MUST shoot better from the stripe in order to stack up "W's" in this tough district. Katie Harrell sparked the Bears in the first half from the opening tip by pushing the ball and seemingly getting to every loose ball. I'm not sure of any exact stats, but my guess would be that Bear scoring was lead by Katie Harrell and Tayler Thompson who where both somewhere in the 12-16 point range. Shelly Conn contributed solid minutes off the bench hitting key free throws in the 4th quarter. This was an exciting game to watch...just ask the scorers table attendant who "accidently" forgot to start the clock 2 or 3 times down the stretch. : The last district win against Lumberton for the Bears was...? I_am_McLovin
LCM is a legit contender this year for a district championship!! Coach Ellerbee is one of the best coaches in the area. She has a great basketball mind and knows how to motivate those girls. What really sets her apart is the way she builds relationships with her players and how well she relates to them. Those girls love her and love playing for her!! Great job coach! It also helps that she has a great bunch of girls over there! This is your year!!!! Bobcat1
I think Central, Livingston, Ozen, Nederland will make sure LC-M doesn't take the District Championship.
Slam14
District 20-4A Champions? That may be a big stretch, but it's not out of the question for the Lady Bears to become a playoff team this year. Central, Ozen, & Livingston are certainly the district front runners and with good reason, (no one in their right mind would dispute that),but with 4 playoff spots in 4A this year LCM should contend. This team IS good enough to capture that 4th spot if they continue to work and grow. LCM understands that this is just one game...but they also understand it was a big one. Again, Congrats to Coach E and the Lady Bears.
