Not comfirmed yet, but the HF vs Milburn game at 9 will be moved to noon in the old gym and BC vs PNG at 10:30 will start at 1:30 in old gym.

Thursday, Dec. 11

G1: 9am - Hamshire-Fannett vs. Richard Milburn (New)

G2: 10:30 - Bridge City vs. PN-G (New)

G3: 1:30 - Buna vs. LC-M (New)

G4: 7:30 - Orangefield vs. Sabine Pass (New)

pretty good game at the start but after awhile they broke lose and didnt look back.

i felt as if the refs called way to many fouls going for OF but im sure they felt the same way towards us(Sabine),but with it or without the out come mostlikely would have been the same with OF winning just maybe a closer game(I dont think a ref can cause a 26point lose :'( ) I believe Sabine faces Buna next

The sharks came in the first quarter strong playing smart and confident. Yes nitro you are correct the ref's were missing/and messing up on numerous calls, but that is not the reason the Sharks didn't sneak away with a W. You have to remember that Sabine is a 1A team and the Bobcats are a 3A.

Good game and good luck to to both teams.

IT WAS A GOOD GAME AT THE BEGINNING SABINE WENT 7-0 BUT THEN ORANGEFIELD LIT THE THREE POINT LINE UP AND CAME AWAY WITH THE WIN

THE 1-3-1 DEFENSE TORE US BUT

KNOWING COACH HARVEY WE'LL HAVE AN OFFENSE FOR THAT AND COACH WILL GET US BACK ON TRACK

I'll tell you what, the Sharks impressed the heck out of me last night. They are very athletic and they keep the tempo up the entire game and aren't afraid to run the floor with you. They will do very well in 1A this year.

thanks bobcatfan4life(means more than you know)guess our team kryptonite is a quite gym.

Kinda feel like we let you down with that lost to Buna.

Indians outlast Orangefield to win Bobcat Classic

ORANGEFIELD — The Orangefield Bobcats had another stout game on the defensive end.

However, the Bobcats couldn’t quite find their offensive prowess Saturday in the championship game of their own Bobcat Classic.

Port Neches-Groves outscored the Bobcats 27-20 after intermission and forced the Bobcats into sixth fourth-quarter turnovers as the Indians went on to win the title tilt 44-42.

With the game knotted up at 42-42 with 0:34 left, tournament Most Valuable Player Travis Weathersbee, who finished with 13 points and seven rebounds, powered his way up inside for what eventually turned out to be the game-winner.

PN-G’s Brennan Doty, an All-Tournament selection, could’ve iced the game for the Indians but missed the front end of a one-in-one at the foul line with 11 ticks, giving the Bobcats a chance to tie it or win it.

The Bobcats melted the clock down with nice execution and Bobcat standout junior Zach Hayes, an All-Tournament pick, put up a nice shot just inside the free-throw line as time expired. The ball did everything around the rim except go in and the Indians walked away with the two-point win.

Hayes had another outstanding game, leading the Bobcats (8-3) with 13 points and nine rebounds.

“Our kids played hard, can’t fault their effort,†said Bobcat coach Rea Wrinkle. “We had another good game on defense but we didn’t execute well on the offensive end at times.â€

All-Tournament pick Jamey Chatagnier scored all 11 of his points in the second half to power the Indian uprising. Christian Kerr added eight points and six rebounds for the Indians (7-5) while Spencer DeRon had seven rebounds.

“PN-G was a good test for us,†said Wrinkle. “They have a big team and we’re going to see some big teams in our district. We’ve seen two good teams in LC-M and PN-G this week and that’s going to help us a lot down the line.â€

Tyler Angelle had eight points for the Bobcats while All-Tourney pick Stefan Addison contributed five points and five boards.

PN-G outrebounded the Bobcats 25-23. Both teams finished with 13 turnovers. Orangefield went 5-of-9 from the free-throw line while PN-G was 6-of-12.

In the third-place encounter, every Little Cypress-Mauriceville player scored and at least got one rebounds as the Bears (4-7) cruised past the Richard Milburn Academy Wildcats 74-38.

The Bears jumped out to a 17-6 run in the first period and controlled the action the rest of the way.

Christian Harley led the Bear attack with 13 points. Post Jake Tsuchiya had 11 points and five rebounds. Fellow post Frank Fuller pumped in 10 points while Hunter Gonzales added nine points and Preston Armstrong eight.

Charles Francis led the Wildcats with a double-double, posting 20 points and yanking down 13 rebounds while Marcell Davis added nine points and seven rebounds.

The Bears, who only committed 14 turnovers, forced Milburn into 23. Milburn finished with a 35-28 rebounding margin. LC-M went just 13-of-29 from the free-throw line while Milburn was just 8-of-18.

The Bridge City Cardinals (11-3) took home the consolation trophy, routing Buna 59-41.

The Cardinals broke away from a 9-8 lead in the first quarter with a 25-11 spurt in the second.

Nate McAnelly paced the Cardinal arsenal with 14 points. Justin Pittman tallied 12 points while Mason Ellis had nine and Justin Reynolds eight.

Scott Edwards led Buna with 16 points while Josh Clark chimed in with 12.
