Not taking anything away from the Nederland win but I told you guys this was not the SOC of old. 0 returning starters from the state title teams. They have a losing record and may get 4th in their district, but nonetheless, great win!!!

Nederland needs to develop some consistency, until that happens, flip a coin.  Great one game, mediocre the next, I have high expecatations for this team, but they have to show up EVERY frikkin night.  If they do, great things could happen.

I agree. I think this is a big win for Nederland..  I said it in the beginning... even if they were short handed this was a huge win.

It's strange how some wins can change the attitude of an average team into a winning machine. Let's see how Nederland handles their win in the future.

Nederland stuns South Oak Cliff, beat defending Class 4A state champs 83-78 in double overtime

It definitely wasn't an easy win.

The Nederland boys basketball team needed two overtime periods to do it.

But in the end, the Bulldogs walked away with an 83-78 victory over defending Class 4A State champions Dallas South Oak Cliff in double overtime in the first round of the Young Men's Business League/Beaumont Independent School District tournament Thursday afternoon.

Nederland's Francis Torres led the Bulldogs with 26 points. Forney added 10 points.
