Gasilla Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 I was just told that they are predicting this thing is going to hit High Island. Is this true? That's all we need...
KFDM COOP Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 See weather forum..To early to say but i am concerned. Some of the models have it near Galveston Thursday as CAT 4...See WX forum announcement..
tvc184 Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 I was just told that they are predicting this thing is going to hit High Island. Is this true? That's all we need... Ernesto looks like it is making a direct line toward the upper Texas coast and since they always seem to turn one way or the other...................
KFDM COOP Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Let's just pray it turns. That's a 5 day map by the way so alot can happen. We'll know by Monday probably for sure..
WOS95 Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 i just hope it will lose strength somewhere along it's path.
NedDog Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 I'm afraid that once it enters the Gulf, it will strengthen quite nicely. :|
Guest Diva Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Ok, that Accuweather map wasn't a very nice thing to post. You really oughta be more careful about the content you allow on this site!!!!
KFDM COOP Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 It will change several times before Friday..
Gasilla Posted August 26, 2006 Author Report Posted August 26, 2006 Is the number on the hurricane in the Accuweather model the predicted strength of the storm? If so, we could live with a Cat 2 storm, couldn't we?
KFDM COOP Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Yea..The reason it's marked cat 2 is weakening would be possible as it approaches as some dry air from the north could get sucked into it. We should know Monday late where he's headed.
Gasilla Posted August 26, 2006 Author Report Posted August 26, 2006 That is soooooooo sweet!!! I know LA, MS, FL and GA have had their share of storms, but so have we. Hopefully, it will keep weakening.
Gasilla Posted August 26, 2006 Author Report Posted August 26, 2006 Coop, is the latest model making you feel a little more at ease?
KFDM COOP Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 I still think cat 4 in the Gulf is likely since there will be no shear and very warm water!
sticky Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Looks like it's headed to New Orleans. Better them than us.
KFDM COOP Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Trend has been further east, hope it continues..
Guest 1motime Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Before Rita no one would think twice about a storm that far out . Know what I mean.
Tiger90 Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Yep. People were squealing when I believe it was Chris that formed well east of Cuba. We are gun shy now.
ndnsrock44 Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Here's a link to some current computer models.... http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/tracking/at200605_model.html
KFDM COOP Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 Whoever gets hit by this next Thur/Fri it's going to be bad. Cat 3 or 4. The plane found the center to be a little farther east which is good as well.
