KFDM COOP Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 Lamar University football coach Ray Woodard entertained 17 recruits — 15 high school and 2 from junior college — on campus for the weekend, with the focal point of their visit the Cardinals basketball game against Texas Tech Saturday night. On hand for just the basketball game was Nederland’s star running back Wareall Grogan. Grogan could not be entertained for the entire weekend because he won’t take the SAT for the first time until January. Woodard, incidentally, says former West Orange-Stark QB Andre Bevil will become his first signee Wednesday morning . . .

TexazBall Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 WHat Class Will he be For the start of the season???,,,will he go back to Freshman
grizzly62 Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 Lu has been taLking to Aaron Hazelwood from kville to come play!!!! LOVE TO SEE THAT!!!
badndn Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 Tatums problems were not his arm or his accuracy. His problems were the playcalling and being on his back all year because the defense pinned their ears back everytime he dropped back to pass. That tends to happen when you only throw on third and obvious! Did you even see him play? Glad Bevil will be in the fold. Just wonder how the switch from a run oriented option offense to the spread will suit him. The good news is he will have a year to learn it and adjust.
skipper Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 NOT SURE ABOUT THAT ONE.when he was the QB there in orange did thay run the spred

Saw him play against Ozen last year and didn't have to see him play this year because he didn't improve. I worked with Tatums uncle, met his father(before he died), and know his grandmother. But he still isn't college material @QB. Maybe he can play safety or something....
Maverick24 1/2 Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 Does anyone know the list of recruits Lamar hosted over the weekend or who all from this area they have offered thus far? Also, is Lamar going to run the spread? I hope not...I like the Pro-Set myself.

He may be a backup his entire career, but he not be changing positions. I think WOS ran the spread when he was there, but it was a run first spread offense. Shorta like what UT ran with VY.
Spanky Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 NOT SURE ABOUT THAT ONE.when he was the QB there in orange did thay run the spred Bevil has been the past two years at Navarro JC, coach W's former school. Does anyone know what sort of offense they ran? Spread, option, pro-style?
