bullets13 Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 There's been some talk about having a setxsports meet and greet, but what do you guys think about a fishing tournament? i think it would be pretty cool. we could either make it a saltwater tourney, or go up around the lakes area and have a bass tourney. a modest entry fee would cover any costs incurred to put it on.
tvc184 Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 I think that saltwater might be easier to put on and attemd for most people. I think that a majority of our regular posters are more local to the Golden Triangle and in easy driving distance of saltwater. A trip to the lakes would be a lot more driving time for most people. I like either but the saltwater would seem to be easier to arrange.
643 Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 I'm (we) in for salt water and them hardheads fear me....
bullets13 Posted December 16, 2008 Author Report Posted December 16, 2008 I'm (we) in for salt water and them hardheads fear me.... i was considering going pro on the hardhead circuit for awhile, but after almost losing an eye and three fingers in a nasty finning accident, i decided to give up on my dream.

Cardinal Supporter Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 I personally like T Bend fresh water myself.
jdawg03 Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 Im all for it...fresh and saltwater...freshwater would do well at Rayburn... I'd like to make it a big event eventually...with our reach it could happen

I'd like to make it a big event eventually...with our reach it could happen If there was prizes or money involved, it would be fairly easy to be a big event. Not so much to start but if you start getting enough entries, sponsers start coming in.

Need to decide approximately when......spawning season is getting close.......and I'm all over that at the lakes.

mjones830 Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 Sounds great, but if you’re like me we’re too busy following kids around to their Select and High school sporting events. Between Track & Field, Softball and Volleyball, I can’t get to the lakes. My boat has been collecting dust for months. :'(

bullets13 Posted March 12, 2009 Author Report Posted March 12, 2009 i was just spitballing with this. does anyone have any experience organizing a tournament?
thetragichippy Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 I have fished enough of them I am sure I could figure it out. If I could get some help I would be happy to get this going. The first thing is to is advertise this in the forum and get some commitments. Then we could figure out an entry fee and prizes. I bet with some help we could get some local companies to sponsor some giveaways.....
thetragichippy Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 BULLETS13, send me a PM so I can send you one. Did not see an option near your name.
TallinaBoyz Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 freshwater would be better because some people dont like putting there boats in saltwater. Rayburn would be a good place to do it at because its big and theres enough room for everybody to move around. Freshwater would be great
Guest beat-em_deep Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 okay 83Alumni is great at organizing tournaments yall should PM him ... if any1 on here has ever fished the Triple "S" Bass tournaments he is the one who puts them on!
