Guest coachacola Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 Lamar, meanwhile, has already fooled me with a 7-3 start that really should be 8-2. When Roccaforte was hit with the loss of scholarships last spring, when 6-6 Justin Nabors went down with a season-ending injury and when 6-8 Lawrence Nwevo was sidelined early, I thought the Cardinals were in big trouble. Now, barring further injuries, I think they are again going to be strong contenders for the Southland Conference title and NCAA bid. These Cardinals are undersized, but they are quick, quick, quick, they play with ferocious intensity and a terrific coaching staff always has them extremely well prepared. Kenny Dawkins and Jay Brown are becoming an imposing 1-2 punch and somebody from among Brandon McThay, Tristan Worrell, Coy Custer and Skyler Williams is always stepping up. Williams is one of the most explosive players I’ve seen at Lamar. His dunk against Tech blew the roof off the Montagne Center. Has Coach Roc finally come into his own as a head coach? http://www.panews.com/sportsbobwest/local_story_351203611.html?start:int=15
