UNLV Posted December 17, 2008 Author Report Posted December 17, 2008 Tech forum still hatin g on LU and now UTEP. Being in the Big12 has gone to their head... UTEP 96 Tech 78 It was a lot worse but I think UTEP turned it off to save Tech an embarassment...
BLUEDOVE3 Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 I told yall I wasn't impressed with Texas Tech. They have the name recognition based on their affiliation witht he Big 12, a successful football program, and Bob Knight.
Guest coachacola Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 UTEP usually has a pretty solid basketball team but I thought Texas Tech would at least give them a game. It makes Lamar's win against them less impressive. We'll see how well SFA does against Tech in Lubbock.

I agree it makes the win against Tech less impressive, but don't forget (even though they don't count) LU put a pretty good whoopin' on UTEP in a pre season game situation scrimmage in SA.
UNLV Posted December 18, 2008 Author Report Posted December 18, 2008 Maybe LU soften them up for UTEP by breaking their spirit and confidence...
jake94 Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 This is the same UTEP that LU manhandled by 15 or so in a scrimmage at their place. All it tells me is that Lamar is a better team than Tech as well as UTEP. I think LU has a great shot to extend the homecourt win streak into next season! That would be great!

Ah Jake, how long ago was this scrimmage? Amonth? Two months? Things change in the world of sports. Maybe their best two players were out that game day.

We were missing Justin Nabors and Lawrence Nwevo.
BLUEDOVE3 Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 I'm only saying UTEP will be in revenge mode and a different attitude next time it meets LU.
UNLV Posted December 18, 2008 Author Report Posted December 18, 2008 I'm only saying UTEP will be in revenge mode and a different attitude next time it meets LU. UTEP don't want any part of LU...
Guest coachacola Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 A home and home with UTEP would be pretty nice but hasn't it been a while since Lamar's played them? Maybe Roc will have them on the schedule soon. As far as UTEP beating Tech, I bet Tech was still down from the Lamar loss, and not having played any other road games, couldn't bounce back against a pretty good UTEP team.
