Smith and Juan Augusto were 2 of my favorite relievers the Stros had back in the 80s. Prayers to his family.

I was toatlly schocked when I found this out. Dave Smith had one of the greatest curve balls I have ever seen. When I was a  kid I never saw a ball go 12 to 6 like that. He was just awesome to watch. RIP.

Smith had ice water in his veins, great stuff. Sad to hear. His locker was next to Kerfield, that was a job in itself.

Smith was known as the biggest tipper on the club.
