A HUGE THANKS GOES TO ALL THE PLAYERS WHO SACRIFICED SO MUCH TO MAKE IT AS FAR AS THEY COULD! IT WAS THE HALFTIME SCORE AND IT WAS BACKWARDS! In a game that featured an amazing combined 1,402 yards of offense, 63 first downs, and a combined point total of 118 points (a record in the state title game) the Bronco stampede could not keep pace with the Wild Cats. The scoring slowed in the second half as the Broncos scored two touchdowns to the Wild Cats four touchdowns. The Broncos never really recovered from an onside kick recovery by the Wild Cats in the third quarter. The ending of the game was fitting to the season as both sides of the stadium ( a Toups Graphics estimate of 14,000 to 16,000 ) gave a standing ovation to all the players involved in this record setting state final performance.
