BIGMO44 Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Congrats Rebels, Coach Wilkins has made some serious defensive adjustments over the last few games and Evadale is playing basketball again. I'm sure he has made other adjustments but the defensive changes are the most obvious. Evadale is much improved and improving with each outing. The Warriors beat the Rebs by 30 earlier this year, with this win, Evadale is heading in the right direction!!! Keep working hard Rebels!!!
trophyman Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 BEST I've seen all year if they had played like that earlyer their record would be the best in district keep it up guys and GOOD GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
whsalum Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 Warren didn't shoot the ball well but I didn't see much defensive pressure by either club tonight.Evadale ran a token press and fell back in to a 1-3-1 for most of the game.Warren's guards got a lot of looks but couldn't convert. Can't comment on the foul shooting because Evadale was only called for 1 foul in the second half.Evadale won this game on the boards plain and simple. After their meeting earlier this year Warren took the night off and it cost them.
whambulance Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 If I'm correct, and I won't be off much, the fouls were 8 against Evadale and 4 against Warren in the 1st half and 1 Eva, 7 Warren in the 2nd. That makes the total fouls Evadale 9, Warren 11 for the game. Sounds overall pretty close. Refs didn't decide this one. I know you didn't say that, but...it was mentioned. Anyway, congrats on 3 in a row Evadale. Good game Warren.
Vakidis Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 keep it up rebs keep playin "yalls" game and you will continue to win... we got buna next tuesday lets make it 4 straight
whsalum Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 I didn't mean the officials cost Warren the game. Both clubs were over the limit in the first half.Just found it odd for a team to press an entire half and get called for 1 foul.Bottom line is Warren didn't shoot the ball well enough to win.For this group to win they have to get Andrews in the flow of the game early, tonight that didn't happen.
Vakidis Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 no way evadale beats buna ok if you say so. who thought we would beat a team (Warriors) who beat us by 30 earlier in the year? we're beating buna tuesday
whsalum Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 Evadale will definitely be capable of beating Buna.Should be a real close ballgame, both clubs are pretty evenly matched. Both teams play hard which is a tribute to their coaching staffs when you look at their records.
wasson_25 Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 If Evadale can stop there Big/not so big man down low than they will keep it close(they shouldnt have no problem with that because somebody said no one will be able to handle Evadale Post Players) If they stop Kevin #22 or#24.Then they will win the game.

AGREE SOMEWHAT ;D ;D ;D
Vakidis Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 evadale won in triple OT last year should be a fun game
BigTimePlayer Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 I didn't mean the officials cost Warren the game. Both clubs were over the limit in the first half.Just found it odd for a team to press an entire half and get called for 1 foul.Bottom line is Warren didn't shoot the ball well enough to win.For this group to win they have to get Andrews in the flow of the game early, tonight that didn't happen. Warren needs to be able to count on other player beside cody he cant shoot a good enough % night in and night out to carry this club. Warren has good athletes like brandon young who can attack against the zone and go one on one. They should look to attack more and rebound they cant get caught up in watching andrews shoot the long ball. Cody also needs to know when to stop shooting. he is a OK shooter but sometimes the shots just arent going to fall. When he is hitting let em fly. Live by the 3, Die by the 3
whsalum Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 The last thing you want a real shooter to do is quit shooting the basketball.Brandon is very capable of beating the defense,he just doesn't finish when he gets to the rim.I have watched these kids for years and regardless of Codys percentages he is the most accurate option they have.If he's on and getting open looks(which will be a challenge from here on out)they have a shot at winning if not they will struggle to score.I heard a quote once from Larry Bird,he said anyone can go 0-10,it takes a real shooter to go 0-20.He was talking to Reggie Miller.Don't quit shooting the ball Cody,it's what you do best.Shooters have to get in a rythm and I think Cody shot it twice in the first quarter, that won't get it.Good luck next week guys in Woodville.
Guest centrelcollegebasketball Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 yeah he is right u do gotta keep shooting and jus keep ur confidence. On another note Aaron Harrington is a dang good defender he can check people!

Vakidis Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 Cody is a great shooter.... he had 8 from the arc last time they played evadale and that had a huge impact on the outcome of the game when evadale got beat by 30
no-look Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 Who is coaching at Warren this year?
