KFDM COOP Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 QB to Lamar By Tom Halliburton The Port Arthur News One West Brook running star informed NBC's listeners on national television while a Bruins passing whiz quietly told The News of his collegiate decision. Christine Michael is headed to Texas A&M while Christian Louis is committed to sign with Lamar. Two offensive standouts and members of the 37th annual Port Arthur News Super Team, Michael and Louis, traveled totally different roads to their pledge announcements on Saturday.
UNLV Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 Wow, excellent sign... now if we can get a few more WB players...
AggiesAreWe Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 That's three quarterbacks in this first year signing. I am curious if he'll sign anymore.
Guest mffl Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 Great news! He'll be a great player in the SLC. I know he was recruited by UCA and SHSU as well. Edit: Missed this important part of the article: The announcement for Louis did not require the same fanfare. The 21-5A first-team all-district quarterback from West Brook liked the idea of staying in a similar spread offense at Lamar that the Bruins deployed. Christian also welcomed the idea to play under LU head coach Ray Woodard and quarterback coach James Brown, a former West Brook and University of Texas quarterback. While Louis announced the verbal commitment to sign with Lamar, all verbal commitments remained non-binding until the Feb. 4 national signing date. Louis expressed his intention to still visit Sam Houston State on Jan. 16. "It's just right for me to stay at home and play in front of the home fans," Louis said.
AJ25 Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 is he quick? when i saw him in the scrimmage against lufkin he looked a tad slow for reciever..
3rd stringer Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 Quarterbacks are generally the top athletes on the field. Just keep recruiting all the athletes you can. Woodard will find a position for them to play.
BLUEDOVE3 Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 The guy said he had a few more recruiting trips to take. And I took it as if a better offer doesn't come around, he will stick with Lamar. I'm wondering if this is a recruiting ploy to put a little added push to any schools that really want his services.
