rhino1877 Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 About 5 years ago there was a game at Woodville... Not sure who Woodville played but the final was 5-3.
firsthOops Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 rhino, that was Huntington (coached by Leland Hand) versus Woodville at Woodville and Huntington won, you are correct 5-3.
rhino1877 Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 How have you been old friend? You never sent me your new e-mail address.
no-look Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 About 5 years ago there was a game at Woodville... Not sure who Woodville played but the final was 5-3. I was at that game. As a coach, you are a hero or a total idiot(according to the fans).................... The greese at the consession stand didn't have time to get hot...
BigTimePlayer Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 was this a important game or something! Was this a coaching stradegey gone bad or good? Who was holding the ball.
quickdraw34 Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 The game was actually in Huntington. Was over very quickly.
Guest curtissimo Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 5-3 in high school basketball is unreal! Dang, i bet it was a boring game to watch
no-look Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 The game was actually in Huntington. Was over very quickly. Hey quickdraw......you would have gotten tossed last night!
PoppaBearstarr Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 was the goals moved up to twenty feet or something....dang that would be horrible to watch.
OldTimer Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 Normally these games are when one team decides to hold the ball and not even try a basket. When I was in High School – a long long time ago – we played Huntsville who was considered the best team in the State at the time and the final score was 10 – 6. We lost – but the reason that we stalled the entire game was they had a 6’10†center who was really good and our tallest player as 6’1â€. Had we played a normal game we would have lost by 30. And yes it was a very boring game.
Guest nostradamus Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 yes...it was a district game. I was coaching in that district at the time.....and ol' Hand used the spread offense very effectively when he was at Huntington....it gave his kids the best chance to win games in fact, we played Huntington four times in those two years and in those four games we combined for ELEVEN OT's!!! All because of that maddening spread offense.
quickdraw34 Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 yeah, no-look, you are the second person that has told me that. Something about ole bartlett scares the refs. He can talk to them like a dog and they just take it. Red devils are rollin' hope they can keep it up. ;D
BMTSoulja1 Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 Wow! The MVP of the game was the leading scorer that poured in a wooping 2 points! :D
