What in the world is going on with Orangefield? They are a better team than this. I have seen Legacy play a few games this season and Orangefield should not lose to these guys.

I was at the game.  Orangefield played a lot better than they did in the EC tournament or against Kelly.  Legacy shot the ball extremely well.  Also Legacy attempted 16 more free throws than OF 27-11).  I don't know why you didn't see this coming.  Legacy lost to WOS in overtime over the holidays.  They are not a bad team.  OF shot the ball better and played a lot harder on the defense than the last few games.  They still need some key players to step up, but they are moving more in the right direction.  Yes, they do need to play better or WO-S will take the third spot.  There will be no sneaking up.  It is obvious they are good.  HJ and Silsbee better watch out for WO-S as well.  They are as hot as anybody right now.

As far as OF goes.  They are really missing some inside game.  Grangers absence from last year is very obvious.  It is hurting them on both ends of the floor.  They also need to work on their decision making some.  The guards make questionable decisions at times.  I have faith.  They will do what needs to be done.

1 word, defense.  The good news is that we shot the ball well, the bad news is that we gave up layup after layup.  Guards have got to play better defense away from the ball.  I thought that Hayes played up to what he is capable on both ends and it made a huge difference.  The lack of an inside defensive presence hurts some but Hayes does an adequate job.  The biggest problem is that every game we dig a hole with the first group and we can't afford to play catch up.  Our younger guys have to carry this team which is ok but the seniors still get alot of minutes.  I still think that we will be ready to make the playoffs.

Before you jump to conclusions, dont forget Legacy took WOS to overtime at a neutral site.  Legacy won their game vs OF at Legacy.  OF hasnt been playing well lately so they better get their act together by district.  They play at Coldspring on tuesday, which is another good warmup for district since Coldspring will likely get 2nd in that district.  If they can win that game, it will give them some good momentum going into district.

Coldspring is not as good as they have been in the past. I saw them play 2 games over at the Barbers Hill tourney and they didn't look all that good. They lost both those games handily. Orangefield better beat this team but I said that about Legacy too.
