KFDM COOP Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 Mustangs face another schedule change By RYAN S. CLARK Over the last week, the Southeast Texas Mustangs have faced as many schedule changes as games played. Sunday's game against the Houston Takers was postponed so each team could free up a date to play the Beijing Aoshen Olympian, an ABA team based out of Stockton, Calif., said Mustangs coach Steve Tucker. Tucker said Beijing Aoshen Olympian will travel to Texas and play the Mustangs, the Takers, the San Antonio-based Texas Fuel and the Texas City Rangers starting Feb. 15. The Mustangs, who are 10-1, would play the team at Ford Arena on Feb. 15. A make-up date for the Mustangs game against the Takers has not yet been determined, Tucker said. The latest schedule change comes off the heels of the Mustangs having to cancel its two-game road set against the West Texas Whirlwinds, who play in Midland. Instead, the Mustangs played the Mississippi Blues in Jackson, Miss., and won both games extending their winning streak to nine games. One game that is still scheduled is the Mustangs home game on Thursday at 7:30 p.m against the Texas Fuel. The Fuel, who are the No. 2 team in the ABA power rankings, are the only team to beat the Mustangs this season.
