Guest gladiator2 Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 The old saying " you can't hit what you can't see" is definately something to keep in mind. Towards the end of last year and a few weeks into the fall my son was struggling like I have never seen before. He has always been an above average contact hitter and he started striking out quite a bit. When the strikeouts started happening I was trying everything but the right thing. He wears contacts and I never new there was a problem until he couldn't tell me the score of a basketball game because he could not see it. I brought him back to the eye doctor and his eyes had gotten worse. We got his eyes fixed and he wanted to go and hit and it was like night and day. It was really unbelievable what it did for his confidence because he had lost pretty much all the confidence he had in himself. Our last couple of practices he has wore the baseball out. For a while there I thought I was going to take him out of select baseball but now he has made a team that he always wanted to play for in the Woodlands. It's a drive but we'll see how it goes. I was talking about this last week at work and another guy brought his son to have his eyes checked and he had a problem and got it corrected and he could not believe the difference it has made.
