I would like to see coach Bolton get the job. He's only been at LC-M for one year but he has made a difference. All of us athletes as well as non-athletes like him. He's a good guy and a good coach. If he got the job Im sure that we would win games this year.

The Satcher guy has a pretty good resume himself.  He is a former PNG grad that played under D. Malone.  He has coached in college at Northwestern State and with David Baliff at Southwest Texas when Baliff was the DC.  Baliff by the way is the new head coach at Rice who just went 9-3.  He dropped down to HS where he coached offensive line at Brazosport before moving to Bay City to coach the defensive line and secondary when they went to the state championship in 2003 or 4.  He then went to Clear Lake where they went to the state semifinals for the first time in school history.  He led the defense as DC for Clear Lake this year to a district title and one of the top 10 defenses in the state.  He has also been invited to coach in the Bayou bowl this year.

John Launius - Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks

John Launius just finished his second year with Trinity Valley, directing a high-flying offense that put up big numbers week in and week out in 2008.  The offense included several All-Conference performers that finished among the top of the league in passing, rushing and receiving.  The Cards balanced offensive attack not only ranked among the best in the SWJCFC, but they were among the nation's best as well.  TVCC ranked in the top 18 nationally in passing offense (#18), rushing offense (#15), total offense (#13) and touchdown passes (#12).

Launius brought Trinity Valley a wealth of experience with both explosive offenses and the quarterback position.  He arrived in Athens in 2007, after spending the previous season at Dodge City C.C. in Dodge City, Kansas.  As offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, Launius directed the Dodge City offense to one of the most prolific seasons in school history, finishing as one of the top passing offenses in the Jayhawk Conference and NJCAA.

Before entering the college ranks in 2006, Launius spent more than a decade coaching at the high school level.  From 2002 to 2005 he was the head football coach at Channelview High School, just outside of Houston, where he led the program to its most successful seasons in over 10 years.  Prior to Channelview he worked at Arkadelphia High School in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, from 1998 to 2001 as head football coach.

Along with coaching the position, Launius had an incredibly successful playing career as a quarterback. A three year starter at Arkadelphia High School, he led his alma mater to Arkansas High School Football State Championship in his senior season.  Launius then moved on to Southern Arkansas University where he was a four year starter at quarterback for the Mule Riders, finishing his career with 11 different school records, including career total offense and touchdowns.

Launius is married to the former Keri Shaw and has three children, Morgan 11, Myles, 9, and Aiden, 1.

I played under Jeff Harrell in the mid 90's (including the 97 run to the quarterfinals) and I can vouch for his effectiveness as a coach/leader/motivator.  He was a tremendous fundamentals guy (exactly what LCM NEEDS).  Also, he has head coach experience and has been a part of an extremely successful program at Texarkana.  Harrell has ties to LCM also, and knows the community well.  Harrell will be tough on kids and demand their best effort, and most importantly, kids will want to win for him.  He will also be a positive influence on the rest of the athletic programs and be visible in the community.  He is the best candidate for LC-M because he is tough and resilient enough to win here, even though he will be tested extensively.  Whoever gets the job will have a lot of building to do in a short amount of time.  While the comm. will be supportive of Harrell, he will not succumb to ridicule he may receive and he will not cower down to anyone.  All while displaying lots of class.  He is primed for this position and will win at LCM!

I've felt hesitant to post because I really don't know the backgrounds of ALL the candidates, and at first glance there are some really good ones. BUT if I had to make a choice on what I already know about the guys on the list...Jeff Harrell would be the guy I'd like to see at LCM.
