KFDM COOP Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 The Bridge City boys and girls powerlifting teams competed in the Nederland meet on January 10th. The girls team beat out 17 other schools to take first place. First place winners in their respective weight classes were Brittany Myers, Valerie Brown, Alexa Richmond, Ricci Shoemaker and Amy Calliouet. Taylor Daville won second place, Whitney Leblanc took 3rd, Gabby Brown, Bree Moore, and Rosemary Troung won 4th place, Meagan Shockley took 6th place, Sarah Hollier won 7th, Lari Navarro won 10th and Sharon Wilson finished 12th. Myers and Brown were named outstanding lifters. The boys team took home 3rd place overall with only five guys lifting. Tim Sharp won 1st place and broke the meet record in the 148 class with a squat of 485 pounds. He was also named outstanding lifter. Trent Myers also took home first place in his weight class. Thomas Luce won 2nd place and broke the meet record for squat in the 242 class with a lift of 585 pounds. Shane Stankus won 3rd in the 220 class and Adam Prosperie finished 7th in the 198 pound class.
