Rebel Yeller Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 After an impressive 14-3 record in their predistrict games with all the losses coming to higher classification schools the Lady Rebels of Evadale are on a roll. Two convincing wins to start district make it evident that the #10 ranking they have here on SETXSports and their #19 ranking from TABC are both well deserved. The Lady Rebels program under Robert Hollyfield have established themselves as an elite program that consistently wins district and enters the playoffs. This year with a veteran senior laden squad all the elements are in place to make a serious run towards Austin. I admit that getting deep into the playoffs will be difficult. There are plenty of quality programs that will be in the playoffs, but I expect that the Lady Rebels will keep the petal to the metal as they move through district. They can not afford to loose the competitive edge that they gained in the non district portion of the schedule. For six seniors this is their last go round and they have to want it bad and go out night after night and take it. I am always a Rebel fan and I always think that our teams are going to win, that is why they call people like me fans. I know all these young ladies and I admire the efforts that they put out when they step on the court. I just want to conclude by saying that it sure would be a great ride to all the way to Austin, but as always take them one game at a time and everything will work out alright. GO REBELS!
