Bobcat1 Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 No PNG or Livingston? Just wondering I have no clue before I get attacked ;D
Guest DickVitale Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Not in the top ten....maybe in the top 15 you will find a Livingston kid, but definitely NOT a PNG player.....sorry.
Guest hoops12 Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Not in the top ten....maybe in the top 15 you will find a Livingston kid, but definitely NOT a PNG player.....sorry. Well that Harris kid from Livingston is good. And PNG has a post who is putting up like 22 a game.
Guest DickVitale Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Francis Torres is NOT better than Breon Johnson, and probably should not even be in the top 15....Yes I know he had the one 47 point game but has not been close since...He had one of those games, but its not him. Don't get me wrong, Brian English gets a lot out of him for that team but he is not a top 15 player. Weathersbee? Top 10? NO....not close....Pham? Doty? nope...Is Harris the kid from Livingston? Heard he was ok....
Guest scottpellegrin93 Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Yes Master DickVitale would you do the top 15 for me than?
Guest DickVitale Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Yes Master DickVitale would you do the top 15 for me than? C'mon man!! Its just an intelligent discussion here....Don't act like that. Besides, we all KNOW I am the GURU around here anyway!!

Guest scottpellegrin93 Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 nah but for real you do the top 15 and idk what guru means.
Guest DickVitale Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Honestly, 20-4A doesn't have many top notch players this season...Naming a top 10 is a real stretch. 8)
Guest scottpellegrin93 Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 well i guess your just against PN-G.
BMTSoulja1 Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 1. Gulley - Central (Great post and nice shooter with quick hands) 2. Jefferson - Ozen (Beast in the middle...enough said) 3. Frank - Ozen (nice one on one player...Nice crossover move) 4. Forney - Nederland (Great feet...Just a sophmore!) 5. Smith - Central ( Shoots from anywhere...very athletic close to the rim) 6. Johnson - Ozen (exellent floor general) 7. Chris Hammond - Nederland ( Good shooter when given the space) 8. Gonzales - LC-M ( If this is the little guard that killed all those threes against us, Deadeye when left open!) 9. Williamson - Vidor ( Another Williamson... His Brothers were good, I'm sure he is too ) 10. Harris - Livingston ( I can only imagine how good he is...seeing him on the football field)

Guest KirbyKat Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 How can someone go from averaging 18 points a game last year as a junior ( Chris Hammond ) to 8 points a game as a senior and be on the list of best in 20-4A. I'm sure this will come across to some as being a hater, but it's a fact. I'm a big fan of the Dogs, but Chris needs to shake out of whatever he's in and be the player that he was last year.
ForeverADog Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 With Nederland this year they run a lot more of their offense through Forney down low. Thats why his points are up. Also Torres has been taking away from his shots. Chris isn't in a shooting funk his percentage is fine. He isn't looking to score as much. They aren't relying on him as much. He is still a great player though.
NeDeRlAnD b-DoG fAn Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Well said ForeverADog I was gonna say the same thing
Guest KirbyKat Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 No doubt he is an excellent player. I still don't believe Nederland can be successful without getting more points out of him.
TriangleHoops Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 I don't necessarily know that there is a top 15 players in this district. As a whole the entire area is way down from past years on talent, but here are the top players I've seen from 20-4A (haven't seen LCM, Livingston, or Lumberton): 1. DC Frank- Easily most skilled, talented player around here, but he seems to have fallen in love with his jumper just a bit. Even so, he's still the best player in the district. 2. Gulley- Carries his team night in and night out. 3. Willie Jefferson- He's about as explosive of an athlete as you will find and there is no one around here who should be able to match up to him. If he would put it all together...wow. 4. Breon Johnson- Solid PG that (for the most part) just wins. 5. Chris Hammond- His scoring may be down and he's had a few down games, but this kids been proving he can play for three years now. He may be scoring less, but his squad looks to be winning more. 6. Travis Weathersbee- He's big, a pretty good athlete, and always plays within himself. I consider him the most SKILLED big man in the area. To the guy who listed the two PNG guards in the top 15...YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! 7. Williamson- He can pretty much do everything and he pretty much has to over at Vidor. How many boys are in this family? 8. Dionte Forney- Another big body with a lot of potential. It seems like lately the light has started to come on, but he's a sophomore so I expect some more ups and downs. 9. The freshman at Central (Smith?)- Hopefully the next great one from BMT. 10. Francisco Torres- He gets out in transition and gets to the goal about as good as anyone, but is a very streaky shooter in a bad way. With that said, anyone who drops 43 has gotta get some kinda respect.
Guest scottpellegrin93 Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 travis thompson did something like that
