I'm going to go cover a council meeting instead. Not that big of a game for the OL to worry about. LOL yea ok

I would like to meet a few of you HJ people who have given our paper alot of great words. I'll be sitting at scorers table and also taking pix from there. Please be sure to stop by and say hello.

Last time I got lucky and had an advantage, we had already played each other once. Sorry no bets this time. It is a toss up. I will say Lady Bobcats by 6 at home. Remember we have home cooking on our side. That accounts for a few points in our favor.;D ;D ;D

I beleive you will need more than a few points to win this one. If there is one OF ref then HJ wins by 12

50-62 If there are 2 OF refs then HJ wins by  4     54-58

We will see. I don't think there is any officials from Orangefield. ::)

I thought home cooking was refs for the home team like the little short fellow that called 3 horrible fouls on KB last year and then left the gym in a Orange Blaser with a cop escort

Yes, we may have paid him, but he was not from Orangefield. The cops were paid also to make it look good. As far as the Orange blazer, well orange is a pretty color don't you agree?  :P

I'm not going to say Orange isn't a nice color but that blazer was uuuuuuuuugly

So I guess when we played at HJ and the officials showed up in red, white and blue that was just to salute the flag. ;D

GENTLEMAN PLEASE

One day I hope everyone will understand that we are just trying to do the best job we can for the kids.  We are human and we make mistakes.  i have officiated for 16 years and have never called a game for my hometown, except during tournaments where i was not given a choice.  THERE IS NO HOME COOKING ANYWHERE.  All any official wants is for the losing coach to tell him GOOD JOB-the winning coach in most cases will always tell you.   BLEED thanks for backing us up.

I watch this site often-Is it my imagination or is there less complaining about officiating this year.  Any official just wants to do his game and nobody remember him being out there.

OldRef - I remember that game and it was one of the better called games we had all year....

I think the officiating this year has been consistant!  That is all a coach can ask for..... then you can alter the game plan because you know exactly what you can and cannot do...  Even the "lower ranked" officials seem to be doing a much better job this year.

To OLDREF first of all I applaude the men and women who put on the stripes and go out and call games for our kids trying to make sure everyone plays by the rules. There are however a small percentage of whistle blowers who take it upon themselves to help with the outcome of games. ( hate to say it but Orangefield vs Navasota last year  Sorry   )  When those situations happen they continue to bring up bad thougts. So to you and others who call it fair Cudoos and keep up the good job Thanks and if you see the ones who have something to gain get rid of them. I will have to admit this is the best officiating I have seen in ten years at least in this area.

Hey guys we are just kidding about the officials. The kids decide the game , we know that. We are just trying to make the girls board more active. The girls deserve the same recognition as the boys do. This is all in fun. "Home cooking" is a joke. Well maybe not. ;D ;D

OK BOBCAT 05

SINCE WE CANNOT SEEM TO PUT THE PAST BEHIND US.  ASK ME ANY QUESTION YOU WANT ABOUT THE NAVASOTA GAME.  FIRST OF ALL, THE RULE STATES THAT IF A PLAYER ENTERS THE COURT WITHOUT CHECKING IN IT IS A TECHNICAL FOUL.

WAS THE OFFICIAL WITHIN THE RULES WHEN HE MADE THAT CALL -THE ANSWER IS YES.

I HAVE WATCHED THIS GAME PROBABLY 50 TIMES.  I HAVE SHOWED IT TO PEOPLE ALL OVER THE COUNTRY.

I BELIEVE THAT KK PROBABLY HAD A ONE IN FIFTY CHANCE OF MAKING THAT SHOT AT THE BUZZER.  THE POINT IS THAT I THOUGHT SHE WAS FOULED AND SHE SHOULD GET EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE THAT SHOT.

YOU ONCE ASKED""COULDN'T YOU HAVE OVERRULED HIM''  THE ANSWER IS NO.  ONE OFFICIAL CANNOT OVERRULE ANOTHER ON A TECHNICAL FOUL,BESIDES WE HAVE PRIMARY AREAS OF COVERAGE.  THIS MEANS THAT I AM CONCENTRATING ON THE PLAYERS IN THE PAINT.  IF MY CO-OFFICIAL TELLS ME THAT PLAYERS CAME ON THE COURT, THAN I HAVE TO BELIEVE HIM.  IT IS CALLED TRUSTING YOUR PARTNER.

I HAVE WORKED HARD FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS.  I WILL BE RETIRING IN A FEW SHORT SEASONS.  I REFEREE BASKETBALL TO STILL BE A PART OF SPORTS(I PLAYED IN THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP 4A FOOTBALL GAME AGAINST ODESSA PERMIAN IN 1973).  I ALSO HAVE PARKINSON'S DISEASE, AND MY DR. TELLS ME TO GET AS MUCH EXERCISE AS I CAN.

THE REASON I TELL YOU THIS YOUNG MAN IS THAT I AM HUMAN TOO.  I HAD CALLED FOUR OR FIVE GAMES FOR ORANGEFIELD LAST YEAR AND ALWAYS APPRECIATED THE POLITENESS OF YOUR YOUNG LADIES.  COACH ANCELOT ALWAYS TAUGHT THE GIRLS TO SAY THANK YOU WHEN YOU HANDED THEM THE BALL, AND COACH JOST HAS CARRIED ON THAT TRADITION. THE FINAL POINT IS THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO TO CHANGE THAT GAME.

OLD REF

JOE WHITTED
