TheCardinalFan Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 TIME OUT............................................... Gotta do something to stop this 6 - 0 run!!!!!!!!!!! Cardinals in a close one, but it is always hard to win in Evadale.
Evolution Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 I hope High Island pull this win out Evadale has been playing very well from what i been hearing...
Rebel Yeller Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 Truth you hear right! The Rebels seem to be having fun and it is not just winning a couple of games back to back, they are just having a blast on the court and it is showing as they are running Coach Wilkins steams and hustling from start to finish. They got a little later start than half the district with football playoffs and they Rebels are young on Senior Micah Stringer will be lost from this team at years end. They are also deep on a JV squad that is now 16-1 on the season having beaten mostly 2A and 3A teams. Basketball in Evadale is definitely on its way up once again. The 10 guys on the team are so interchangeable and the level of play remains high no matter which players are on the floor. If they can stay out of foul trouble theyare tough to handle. They are quick and the 3 point shooting is becoming more consistant. The inside play is handled by a couple of sophomores Adam Stark and Tyler Tucker and both can make things difficult in the paint. Kyler Bradshaw has improved his game and is a threat from just about any spot on the court. Billy Nichols' game has improved and he now has a sweet running hook across the lane that makes him hard to defend. Justin Potts is quick at the point and Jared Harrington can pull up and shoot when runs the offense. Freshman Devin Murphy adds another outside shot to the arsenal. Colton Whitehead brings in rebounding and another good sized body in the point when he is called on. Stringer is the captain and he can score and rebound and is always leading by example on the floor. I believe that the Rebels will handle High Island as they did West Hardin. This is going to be a tough district from start to finish and I believe that teams have to defend their home courts. The teams that make the playoffs will be the ones that can go in and get a couple of wins on the road. The Rebels have held their own against upper classification teams and while not winning a great deal of their games they are now battle tested and ready to compete in a tough district 25A.
