LUFAN
Here are my thoughts from the game... what the heck did Roc have to get that tech in the beginning of the game for?? And why was it a double tech???.. It went from a 3 point lead to being down by 3 points... Come one now... 69 fouls... This is just ridiculous... I have to agree with terror... we screwed ourselves by getting the games moved to Wednesday... Finally... We shot ourselves in the foot.. made stupid mistakes... AGAIN... I am not going to go to anymore games... I cannot stand watching a team take a dump every game...
Lazeek
I blame the entire coaching staff. Miss too many FT Committ too many fouls Do not make aadjustments Take poor shots Make stupid fouls Too many TO's (although not bad for 50 minutes of game time) What else can I add. BTW the refs tonight were two of the best in the SLC and they still sucked it up!!!!! How do you call 69 fouls in a big game with the SLC Head of Officials at the game? LUFAN
I must have a headache... Did I just say Terror was right??? Good game Prison U.... You out played us... Does anyone have any idea about that double tech call??

Not to mention the sloppy G play. the G is the QB and he's got to protect the ball. Too many turn overs. Defense looked lost under the basket a few times also. AggiesAreWe
I'll sum it up by saying I just don't think Lamar is as good as we thought they were going to be. When you play no defense, you are subject to lose to most teams, good or bad. Lazeek, I have never thought Roc was a good x's and o's coach. I have said that from his first year, but gave him the benefit of the doubt that he would get better. It hasn't happened. Roc may be a good recruiter and motivator, but a good gameday coach he is not. His decisions during the game baffle me sometimes.
Bobcat1
This was the first game I have watched this year...and that is not was I was expecting.. I've read some people on here talking about Hall, but I thought he played pretty dang good last night. There was a lack of want, almost like they are tired of playing, maybe I'm wrong this is the only game I've watched. Good luck the rest of the season! TexasTerror
69 fouls... This is just ridiculous... I have to agree with terror... we screwed ourselves by getting the games moved to Wednesday... This was one of the better officiating crews in the SLC (as Lazeek agrees), but yes -- glad to see you agree with me about Billy Tubbs idea to move the games to Wednesday. Was not that brilliant a plan and the Sun Belt, which flipped with you guys, has benefited to some extent by going on Thursdays. Its time for lamar to make a change i mean each yr u hear bout how good there are and so forth. They have good players but it seems to me he doesnt gameplan well There are very few nights, if any -- in which SHSU will be less prepared than an opponent. The players have bought into the preparation process that our coaching staff has put into place. Our team will not get outcoached, most certainly not in the SLC. We may get outplayed on a given night, but it's not because they were not prepared.
lamarproud
The 1st tech was on Jay Brown. I don't know what he said or did. Then Roc went off with a screaming f bomb laden argument. He absolutely deserved a technical. We had momentum at that time with a 9-6 lead and the 6 point possession killed us. The next thing you know we are down 15-9 and we played from behind for the rest of the game. The players played hard and I thought Charlie Harper and Ashton Hall really had good games. Miles also showed some good signs. I thought Hall should have been in the game more in the 1st half. He was hot and then somehow he gets lost on the bench for a very long stretch. LUFAN
I heard Bull Sh*t over the crowd when Roc was yelling at the refs... He needs to take a lesson from Marlin and calm down.... 4 games 4 techs... Come on... I know your are frustrated but geeze you kill our momentum... I usually like going to the games but I can not when they are calling so many fouls it ruins the game..
Bobcat1
Hall did need to play more in the 1st half...I was wondering why he took him out and left him out for so long. ???

Guest coachacola
Since this was one of the best officiating crews in the SLC then how would playing on a Thursday night made the officiating better? Since I live out of town it doesn't really matter to me if what night they play on. The refs in the SLC have always called nit-picky fouls, no matter what night they play on. I know the SLC doesn't get the top-notch officials, but does the SLC prefer officials who call tight games? It seems like the SLC would have some influence on how tightly the officials call the games.

Bobcat1
Less fouling and more defense is all I can say... If they wouldn't have enough fouls people would be saying things about that... What was the foul count for each team?

More of the leagues in our "officiating group" play on Wednesdays. One league in said group moved to Thursdays to get better officials.
Guest coachacola
I wasn't there so maybe you guys can answer this about the fouls. Were they calling nit-picky fouls in the backcourt or when going for rebounds, or were a lot of fouls due to players driving to the basket? I ask this because both LU and SHSU are good at drawing fouls, so throw that in along with SLC officials who are a little too whistle-prone and that's the kind of game you get. LUFAN
They were nit picky fouls... In the back court as well. The foul count was like 37 to 32... They called the game equally but just way to many foul calls...
NickKBTV
I know it was double overtime but 68 fouls and 107 free throws are just way too much. I've said for years that the SLC officials are the worst in the country. Those 3 we had last night were garbage. Tubbs was telling me at courtside that it was crazy how many fouls were being called and slowing down the pace of the game.
TexasTerror
I've said for years that the SLC officials are the worst in the country. I guess you've never seen a SWAC football or basketball contest. Tubbs was telling me at courtside that it was crazy how many fouls were being called and slowing down the pace of the game. Well, if there's one thing that Billy Tubbs can do, it's correct a problem in this conference. Whether his decisions in correcting are good or not is anyone's call. badndn
I agree with Billy. The unreal number of fouls (many nit picky) played right inot the hands of SH. Hard to run when you are taking the ball out after free throws all night. So we got teed up for our player saying something to an official (Roc does need to cool it, his was warranted) and they have a guy foul out and stare down an official as he walks by him, then bumps him and nothing?? I pay to watch basketball, not the men in stripes. Someone needs to point that out to them!
LUFAN
We are losing because we thrive on a fast paced game... When they let the game go we played well.. I talked to you last night I think Nick... I asked you about the technical fouls when you came up into the stands...
lu cards
officiating was bad for both teams.sam took advantage and we didnt.my lone reason for wanting out of the southland is the basketball officiating.its actually been better this year but last night was as bad as it gets.hall is really starting to improve.hopefully we get it going before its to late. Your opinions about Billy and his opinion on the scheduled games on Wednesday are irrelevant to us, what do you want us to do, ask him to change his mind? Apparently he has a lot of influence on the conference if they play Wed. night games.
