Softball recruiting

I've recently had an interesting dialogue with a local sports fan regarding Lamar State's softball recruiting.

As I explained to the person who messaged me, there are so many excellent softball players in this area, it has been hard for Coach Edwards to get out and see them all play.

That should improve now as Edwards for the first time has a full-time assistant coach, Erin Lovelady, a Nederland HS graduate who was the very first person to join the new program in 2004. She also had the first hit and scored the first run for the new team, and was Lamar State's first all-conference player.

Coach Edwards would like to know about high school student/athletes who are interested in playing for the Seahawks. We have an on-line recruiting form that helps the coaches connect with prospective players.

Interested players can fill out and submit the Student-Athlete questionnaire on the Softball page of the Lamar State College-PA website: www.lamarpa.edu.
