HoopInsider_Cooper Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Board of Trustees will receive a recommendation from Superintendent Dr. Pauline Hargrove for Randy Crouch to be named as the Athletic Director/Head Football Coach of LCM. Dr. Hargrove will make the recommendation during the monthly School Board meeting on February 9 at 6:30 p.m., at the LCM High School auditorium. According to Hargrove, sixty-two people showed an interest in the position of Athletic Director/Head Football Coach that became available earlier this year. Of those expressing an interest in the position, sixty-one actually applied. A representative committee of nine screened all of the applications, narrowing the field to twenty-five. With a second round of screening, thirteen were examined more closely and the final list of applicants to be interviewed included seven names. Of these final seven, one withdrew his name prior to the interview and another following the interview process. According to Hargrove, “All of the finalists were clearly outstanding individuals and it was an extremely difficult decision to make. We feel thankful and blessed to have had such a wonderful pool of applicants and look forward to an exciting new era in LCM athletics.†Coach Crouch has head coaching experience and every program with which he has been identified has been successful. He is presently offensive coordinator for West Orange-Stark High School and has also served as offensive line coach for that district. His successes in those positions have included undefeated seasons in 1998, 2000, 2005, 2006, and 2008; district championships in 1998, 2000, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008; and a state final game in 2000. Crouch’s high school career has also included time at LCM High School as offensive coordinator from 1994 to 1997, when the team was District Runner-Up in 1995 and reached Regional Finals in 1997 – the highest level of play in the team’s history. He was head football coach at Sulphur High School from 1988 to 1990; head football coach at DeQuincy High School from 1987 to 1988; assistant line coach at Sulphur High School in 1976; and was named a high school All-American Football Player in 1971, while playing for Sulphur High School. He was offensive line coach for Louisiana Tech University from 1978 to 1987; a graduate assistant at Baylor University from 1977 to 1978; and defensive end coach as a graduate assistant in 1975. Crouch was named to the All Century Team at Louisiana Tech University in 2001; coached LTU in the 1984 National Finals; was named All-American Guard for LTU in 1974; and played on the College National Championship Team, Division 2 for LTU in 1973.

KDOSullivan Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 It looks like LCM has gotten a good coach, now if they can get the kids to turn out and work at the program. They do in everything else, CC, baseball, softball....
LU07 Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 What are the names of the two in the final seven who withdrew.
Guest tigersvoice Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 What are the names of the two in the final seven who withdrew. Come on, Man! Don't go there. There is a certain amount of embarrassment to these men in not being selected. Leave it alone - you'v got a good coach for Lc-M. Take it and run.
smitty Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 How about breaking the spirit of the rule? Easy now, my alma mater never broke any rules either. Always remember that
Gabe Posted February 2, 2009 Report Posted February 2, 2009 How about breaking the spirit of the rule? Easy now, my alma mater never broke any rules either. Always remember that When the AG ruled they had to release the names, they released the name. Boo hoo they made people wait around. I still was able to eat during those days and be productive.
