KFDM COOP Posted February 24, 2009 Author Report Posted February 24, 2009 I'm not sure what the numbers will be. Numbers aren't turned in until Oct.
Rebel Yeller Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 I can say that from Evadale's perspective the new district alignment looks pretty good. While I think we will schedule some some larger 1A's just as we have scheduled 2A schools in the past I have to say the Rebels chances of coming out on top of the district that came out on the UIL draft alignment looks good. It just takes the three largest schools out of the mix (Hull-Daisetta, West Hardin and Colmesmeil) and leaves the rest of the district untouched. I still have not heard if this means that it will go back to the top two teams in district advancing to the playoff or will it stay three with the district champ getting a bye like in basketball?
ncplaya Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 But, I've noticed it doesnt play in the schools that are possibly moving up or down or the new schools that will be opening in the next year or two. That puts a change on a lot of Districts.
Bobcat1 Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 I'm taking donations for gas money for all the traveling I am going to have to do. I take cash, check, or gas card. ;D Â
KFDM COOP Posted February 25, 2009 Author Report Posted February 25, 2009 If this passes in June for 3A OF will love this new District!
Bobcat1 Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 If this passes in June for 3A OF will love this new District! And I will pay for EVERYONES gas! DEAL!!!!
Cat22 Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 If this passes in June for 3A OF will love this new District! Very true, but I'm just not sure it will pass. I would think that OF and probably HF would vote for it, but don't see too many other local 3A's voting for it, but maybe statewide it will pass. Coop have you had any feedback from across the state on this?
KFDM COOP Posted February 26, 2009 Author Report Posted February 26, 2009 Some! 6 Man Schools love it and it just passed in 1A, 1A will begin in 2010. 2A/3A will vote in June and according to Dr. B it's being talked about more positive now across the State. It's going to happen, sooner than later!!
jackhammer Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 Kirbyville will be 3A if the enrollment requirements stay the same and Kirbyville's current enrollment stays the same. What 3A district would Kirbyville be in if this happens?
KFDM COOP Posted February 26, 2009 Author Report Posted February 26, 2009 Possibily could look like this
setxc Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 Does anyone have the vote count yet in 1A?
KFDM COOP Posted February 26, 2009 Author Report Posted February 26, 2009 It did pass. Should have the numbers around March 1st or shortly thereafter.
Mike_Honcho Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 Humble has 2338 Atsostia (sp) 3188 Summer Creek is taking 800 from Atsostia high and a few from Humble mainly to help with the other new school
rapayne Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Possibily could look like this My understanding and by any other model I have seen is that Diboll and probably Huntington will absolutely come down that way in the new system!
24 over par Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Possibily could look like this My understanding and by any other model I have seen is that Diboll and probably Huntington will absolutely come down that way in the new system! i didnt know wos had that many kids thought they were in the low 6 hundreds
stangchain Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 So did I. I was under the impression that BC had moved above WOS in enrollment. Maybe that was before the hurricane, but I know a lot of kids didn't return to WOS either. I dunno.
KFDM COOP Posted March 14, 2009 Author Report Posted March 14, 2009 They have much less now. This was taken last Oct.

KFDM COOP Posted March 16, 2009 Author Report Posted March 16, 2009 Yes only 2 teams from each District will go to the Playoffs! We'll see if the other Classifications pass it.

Thats gonna stink, why not 3 teams again i think its too many, but that is my opinion...i know some 3rd place teams have done well in the playoffs but since they are making less teams in each classification now i think 2 teams from each district is kinda equal to 3 before...
rapayne Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 i like it for 5a...the other classifications im not too sold on but if they make it to where only 2 teams from each district make the playoffs then im a fan.... Thats gonna stink, why not 3 teams again Really 3 teams???? In the new system that would then be six instead of four in the current format, why not let everyone have in???
Guest A-TOWN Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Anahuac Buna Hardin Kirbyville Kountze Newton Winnie East Chambers Newton and Kirbyville will make the playoffs in the district
KFDM COOP Posted March 19, 2009 Author Report Posted March 19, 2009 Only 2 teams would go under the new plan.
