Guest A-TOWN Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Does this mean that 2 teams will make the playoffs in Football only or in all sports
Guest A-TOWN Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Thats gonna stink if ur in a big powerhouse district
KFDM COOP Posted March 19, 2009 Author Report Posted March 19, 2009 Big schools will be with big schools and small schools will be with small schools.
Guest A-TOWN Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 I know, i was saying i feel sorry for some of the big schools that are in a district with another big school, thats like Playoff teams in 1 district together 5A Division 2 District 7 Baytown Lee Baytown Sterling Beaumont West Brook Dickinson Galveston Ball La Porte LC Clear Springs Port Arthur Memorial 4A Division 1 District 9 Beaumont Central Conroe Caney Creek Humble Kingwood Park Huntsville Magnolia Magnolia West Montgomery Willis
KFDM COOP Posted March 19, 2009 Author Report Posted March 19, 2009 If it passes there shouldn't be no more than 6 teams in a District. They want alot of 4 and 5 team Districts.
KFDM COOP Posted March 19, 2009 Author Report Posted March 19, 2009 1A passed and hopefully the others will.
purpleeagle Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 UIL is putting as many strong playoff teams together in one district. They started this the last realignment. This means some of the weaker teams in the weaker district will make the playoffs and some of the stronger teams in the stronger districts will be sitting home. When these weaker districts meet the stronger district in the playoffs it could be embarrasing. They are not doing the weaker teams a favor by grouping them together. You don't get stronger by playing weaker teams in your district. UIL IS WAY OFF BASE WITH THIS SUGGESTION. HOPE THIS DOES NOT PASS.
KFDM COOP Posted March 27, 2009 Author Report Posted March 27, 2009 There putting Small Schools with small schools and big schools with Big Schools.
Guest A-TOWN Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 Does anybody have this years enrollment in all conferences
KFDM COOP Posted March 29, 2009 Author Report Posted March 29, 2009 Their turned in on OCT. 31 for next year.
ozenfreshman Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 4A Division 2 District 9 Beaumont Ozen Lumberton Nederland Orange Little Cypress-Mauriceville Port Neches-Groves Vidor so will livingston and central still be in our district for basketball?
Guest A-TOWN Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 Is these alignments just for Football only or for all sports
football Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 Travel!! If you look at the mock proposal, you will have a total of 3, 4 team districts in 3a and 3 in 1a. 5a and 4a will be a range from 6 team districts to 10 team districts. 2a - 5 -8, 3a 4 - 6, 1a 4-7. Remember with the proposal as it passed for 1a, only 2 teams from each district make the playoffs. How is this proposal more equitable than current policy? The 3rd place team in a 10 team district is possibly better than the second place team in a 6 team district.
KFDM COOP Posted April 3, 2009 Author Report Posted April 3, 2009 There won't be any more big Districts, IF it passes in the other classes the largest district will have 5 or 6 teams.
football Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 So the mock alignment on the uil website is trash? It looks like to me that they want to keep it at 32 districts in each classification. If that is the case, then the number of teams in the districts will be like they are now.
TXHORN_ET Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 So San Augustine has lower enrollment numbers than Hemphill? Talk about salivating---SA would devour this line-up.

It may be close.
Cat22 Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Anyone heard anything on this? I thought 2A/3A were voting on this in June?
raideroldtimer Posted May 21, 2009 Report Posted May 21, 2009 Travel!! Football, I can agree with you to a point that the 3rd place team in a 10 team district "possibly" could be better than the 2nd place team in a 6 team district, maybe even the 4th place team. Of course that would only be if at least half the teams in the district were quality teams. On the other hand, teams in a 6 team district would have the opportunity to tune up against high quality teams in other small districts so......
football Posted May 21, 2009 Report Posted May 21, 2009 Ponder this; 4 teams in a district - district starts in week 8. Who do you play in weeks 6 and 7?
