watash Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 West Brook forward Michelle Sladaritz signed a letter of intent to play for Lamar University. Congratulations to Michelle and everyone involved in contributing to her success. Good luck with the Cardinals.
bullets13 Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 is she the girl scoring a ton of goals for the brook?
watash Posted February 5, 2009 Author Report Posted February 5, 2009 I have only witnessed a few of their games but based on what I have seen it is safe to assume that she is scoring or assisting on most of their goals. I am not sure what her total is for this year but I think she had 30 goals last year.
Rebel2 Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 I think you will see more girls soccer talent signed by Lamar before the end of the year. Nederland, PNG and Lumberton all have some very good senior talent, plus all 3 of those teams beat Westbrook. Michell didn't score against Lumberton. Can't say if she scored against Nederland or PNG.
bullets13 Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 this is a BIG signing for them, though. until they can fill their lineup from top to bottom with serious talent, it's important that they at least have a couple of explosive players that can create their own chances.
Guest Newbie Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 I hate to burst your bubble but if Lamar wants to be competitive in SLC, they can't pick one from each local school to fill the roster. Michelle will be a nice add to the roster but I believe her experience at Challenge may have helped her get that spot, not her experience at WB.
Rebel2 Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 I watched her play an entire season of club ball a year or two and think she might be a bit one dimensional. After the through ball there isn't much there. Lamar came a long way last year compared to their first. A new program has to be given time.
Guest Newbie Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 You mean her stint with the Fillies. WTG trashing a player on a public board. And you think the other Fillies player are so much better than her......
Rebel2 Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Switch to decaf Newbie. I wasn't trashing anyone and I didn't say anyone was better than her. Just a simple observation. She has great speed and I'm sure she will do well at Lamar.
SFA Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Her training and exposure during her year with Texas's best club for girls (the Challenge) probably did more to get her on a college recruiting list than any of her years with the fillies. And besides, it is a rare talent to be able to finish when you get your opportunities, no matter how the ball gets to your foot.
