LamarStatesports Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 The Lamar State College-Port Arthur men’s basketball team will be at home Saturday in the Carl Parker Center for a 4 p.m. matchup with Lon Morris College in the second of two conference games of the 2009 Homecoming Week. Lamar State is 8-13 overall and 1-11 in Region XIV action after Wednesday’s 86-72 home loss to Paris Junior College. Sophomore forward George Williamson and freshman forward Adrian Fontenot paced the Seahawks with 14 point each against Paris, which dominated the boards on both ends of the floor. Lamar State picked up a win in its overall record this week when Richland College had to forfeit a Nov. 28 victory for using three ineligible players. Lon Morris (18-5, 9-3) currently is in second place in the 14-team Region XIV going into the final seven games of the season. The top 12 teams will compete in the March 6-9 conference tournament at the University of Texas-Tyler. The Bearcats are coming off a 79-75 conference loss at Navarro College. Lamar State will be back in action at 7 p.m. Wednesday at San Jacinto College in Pasadena. The Seahawks will be home next Saturday against Angelina College.
