KFDM COOP Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 Sharp, Cardinals win Lumberton "Power" Meet Van Wade The Orange Leader LUMBERTON — The Bridge City boys powerlifting team competed in the Lumberton meet Saturday and came home with the first-place team trophy. The Cardinals finished with 46 points, with PNG close behind with 42. Cardinal Tim Sharp continues to have an excellent powerlifting campaign. Sharp easily won the 148-pound class and was named the meet’s “Outstanding Lifter.†He lifted a total of 1,290 pounds. He squatted 515 pounds, bench-pressed 295 pounds and had a 480-pound deadlift. In the 123-pound division Devin Oceguera claimed first place while teammate Robert McDonald snatched second. In the 132-pound division Trent Myers stormed to the first-place spot while Jerry Nguyen was a solid third. In the 148-pound division with Sharp, Micah Ellender was fourth and Randyn Myrick was seventh. Zach Heinze finished fifth in the 165-pound class. Adam Prosperie claimed fourth in the 198-pound division. Shane Stankus was first in the 220-pound division while Thomas Luce claimed second in the 275-pound division.
