Before the season started lamarcardinals.com sat down with senior guard Emily Spickler. With about four weeks left inthe regular season, the hot shooting Spickler leads the NCAA in three point shooting percentage. Take a look at what she had to say.

LC: As you start your second season with the Lady Cardinals, what do you think will be your strongest asset to bring the team?

ES: My strongest asset by far is my shooting ability.

LC: What goals have you set for yourself this season?

ES: I want to be one of the key players that Coach must have on the floor at all times, a good role model for the younger players, and give everything I have to finish my last season strong , with no regrets.

LC: If you weren’t playing college basketball, what sport would you be playing?

ES: I was always told that I was good at softball, so if I would have stuck with it during high school and maybe I would have continued into college.

LC: What do you most look forward to after graduation?

ES: Getting a real job that’s not basketball and earning my own money and just seeing where life takes me.

LC: If there was a movie created about your life, what would be the title and what actress would play you in the movie?

ES: Right off the bat I know Jessica Alba would play me. (That’s a no-brainer) It would be called “Living a Blessed Lifeâ€.

LC: In ten words or less give us “words to live byâ€.

ES: Never take your team for granted, a lot of times they are all you have (oops that’s more than ten).

LC: What is something special that most people do not realize about you?

ES: I love my car. Her name is Fiona and I have a made up a whole story about her life.

LC: What is the best advice you would give to an incoming freshman student/athlete?

ES: Chances are you have never done anything like what you about to experience. So don’t get down on yourself when things don’t go your way. The beginning is always the hardest. If you get through that, it’s smooth sailing.
