JAMODI Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 Good Game VERY PHYSICAL....But a Good Game
HillGuy Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 Wow, hate to have missed this one but I'm in LA, jammed up against my hotel window, jacking Cal State Fullerton's free wi-fi trying to get a net connection to see whats going on! Sounds like from talking with daughter it was a really hard fought game. Good news is we are a three way tie for district title, but bad news is the the head to heads may put us as the three seed, so I guess we'd get the loser of Ozen/Central (2nd place) in the first round. Not sure about this yet. More bad news is that starting sophomore guard Manchaca looks like she broke her collar bone and is probably out for season.

BHFAN Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 More information from the Baytown Sun. the situation in District 19-4A, where Barbers Hill ended up in a three-way tie for the championship with Kingwood Park and C.E. King. Those three schools will stage a two-day playoff this weekend at Dayton High School to determine playoff seeding. C.E. King drew a bye in the three-team tournament, so Barbers Hill, 21-7, will play Kingwood Park at 6 p.m. Friday. The loser of that game will get the third-place seed and meet Beaumont Ozen in bidistrict next week. The winner advances to play C.E. King at 2 p.m. Saturday for the first-place seed, with the winner meeting 20-4A’s fourth-place team, Little Cypress-Mauriceville in bidistrict while the loser plays Livingston. “Obviously, you would have liked to have had this worked out in the regular season and not have to play the extra game,†Barbers Hill coach John Chancellor said. “It’s going to be an advantage to the Beaumont-area (20-4A) teams waiting for us to finish. “On the other hand, it gives you a shot to finish first for the district seeding.†After three months of regular season play, naturally, the Lady Eagles could have used a break before opening the playoffs early next week. “You want to play hard and you want to win,†Chancellor said, “but you’re really concerned about injuries and how it’ll affect you on Tuesday’s game.â€
