LamarStatesports Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 The Lamar State College-Port Arthur men’s basketball team will be back in the Carl Parker Center this Saturday for a 4 p.m. conference game against Angelina College. Lamar State is 8-15 overall and 1-13 in Region XIV action after Wednesday’s 83-68 road loss to San Jacinto College. The Seahawks and the Ravens traded leads through the entire game with San Jacinto pulling out a win in the closing minutes. Sophomore guard Jemel Douriso led Lamar State with 22 points, while freshman forward Jacoby Joseph added 13. Freshman forward Adrian Fontenot collected 12 rebounds and 10 points for his 11th double-double of the season. Angelina (14-11, 6-8) won this season’s first matchup with the Seahawks, 79-59, in Lufkin. The Roadrunners have dropped two straight games, the latest a 98-96 home overtime loss Wednesday to Region XIV leader Jacksonville College. Lamar State returns to the road Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game at Blinn College in Brenham.
