Gabe Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 I have been waiting on this Horn run. Just hope my Ags can weather the storm. They are right now and I think they will. Texas is not a confident team down the stretch.
AggiesAreWe Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 4 minutes left Aggies 71 Horns 61
bullets13 Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 3:45 left, Horns down 10, going to the line for 2 after a TV timeout.
bullets13 Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Pittman fouls out on a weak foul call.
bmrm Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 As much as I hate to admit it, UT is highly overrated this year. Â Abrams is having to work way too hard to get his shots off & Balbay and Atchley aren't top D1 talent. Â Perhaps Barnes is falling behind in his recruiting efforts.

James hasn't stepped up often enough, and the horns tear it up with Johnson, but go for long stretches of games where they don't ever look to go to him. If either of those players would consistently step up, AJ would get free a lot more often for open looks.
AggiesAreWe Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 58.5 seconds left Aggies 79 Horns 66
Gabe Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 I agree and disagree. The part I disagree with is the recruits. The talent is there, this team is simply not performing. PS: Everyone do yourself a favor and watch Kentucky tomorrow night and see that Jody Meeks guy. He is the best player who is barely talked about. I know he gets a lil pub but it is nothing like Griffin or Thabett. Meeks is a player and if you have never watched him check him out (So now with me saying this he will be terrible tomorrow  )
bullets13 Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 and Balbay is definitely D1 talent, he's just not a shooter. Â he's an excellent non-scoring point guard who would be very effective if some of his teammates would step it up a bit. Â
bmrm Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 It's over. Â Ag's up 13 with 59 seconds left. Â UT again lays an egg.
AggiesAreWe Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Final Aggies 81 Horns 66 WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bullets13 Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 I can't say much about this one. Â The Ag's deserved it. Â they were far and away the best team on the court tonight. Â horns are still a tourney team, but a couple more losses like this and they'll be staring the NIT in the face.
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 glad theres a nit in ny. :-(
Gabe Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 I can't say much about this one. Â The Ag's deserved it. Â they were far and away the best team on the court tonight. Â horns are still a tourney team, but a couple more losses like this and they'll be staring the NIT in the face. I hate to say right now the Horns are not a NCAA Tourney team. There has got to be a team playing better somewhere who deserves their spot. I know they had a few great wins early on but over the last month and a half or so they are far from a tournament team.
bmrm Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Maybe you're right about Balbay, but I've watched him since the tourney in Hawaii & it seems to me that he's still not quite sure what his role is. Â At the beginning of the season he was trying to be a scorer & now he's trying to be more of a point guard but still has the scorers mentality in him. Â I hope the UT coaches can get him producing quickly so they can live up to their early season predictions. and Balbay is definitely D1 talent, he's just not a shooter. Â he's an excellent non-scoring point guard who would be very effective if some of his teammates would step it up a bit. Â
Gabe Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Just read the Aggies had not won since Jan. 31Â :-\
Guest aschrapps Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 im not a texas fan but this is an embarassment for texas. rick barnes is kind of becoming mack brown...king of recruiting but it isnt leading to wins the mack brown of old i mean
Guest coach07 Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 goes to show how important dj augustine was, he is the only starter missing from last seasons elite 8 team...he was the offense by driving to the basket, drawing fouls, created opportunities for abrams, atchley, and james im not a texas fan but this is an embarassment for texas. rick barnes is kind of becoming mack brown...king of recruiting but it isnt leading to wins the mack brown of old i mean i wouldn't call barnes mack brown just yet, it's just not going their way this year, not every year is gonna be great...even though this season is disappointing, to say he doesn't win games is crazy 2008- elite 8 (31-7) 2007- 2nd round (25-10) 2006- elite 8 (30-7) 2005- 1st round (20-11) 2004- sweet 16 (25-8) 2003- FINAL 4 (26-7)
