besbolbenbedygud Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 If you could carve a Mt. Rushmore, dedicated to your school, who would you use?
McLovin Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 Mark "Sexual Chocolate" Henry Shan Gilder Raymond "Stud" McGallion Chris Barnes ;D 8) Almost Heroes: Kyle Mackey, now coach. Adrian Peterson, planned to move his senior year but stayed in Palestine.
pngfan1 Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 Doug Ethridge, Jeff Bergeron, Ted Brack, Dustin Long.
MikeEast Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 Troy Sumrall, Brad Sullivan, Larry Neumann, Delbert Spell.
Bulldog92 Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 Gene Walkoviak- Most successful coach in Jasper history. Reggie Davis- Explosive tailback on some of Jasper's strongest ever teams in the mid-80's. Eugene Seale- Arguably the best defensive player ever in Jasper. Milton Brack- Long-time coach at the junior high level and HUGE contributor to Jasper athletics overall. Every athlete to pass through the hallways over the last 40+ years has worked with him at some point...

ChampionEagles Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 Curtis Barbay Curtis Barbay Curtis Barbay Curtis Barbay If you don't know, that would be in Newton
NDNWarrior Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 Curtis Barbay Curtis Barbay Curtis Barbay Curtis Barbay If you don't know, that would be in Newton I agree! I would also add Lidney Thompson as well (Coached the 1974 State Championship Newton Eagles! Barbay was an assistant at the time.))

KDOSullivan Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 Charles R. Smith Phil Brown David Llewellyn The entire '64 team( I don't know how you would do the last one)
WOSHIGHc/o2001 Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 I'm still waiting to hear who my WOS counterparts would put on there. I'm still thinking. ;D

Adrian Peterson, planned to move his senior year but stayed in Palestine. McLovin, I realize that this is your personal choice as to who should represent Silsbee on it's Mount Rushmore, but you are way off on your perspective of prominent Silsbee athletes. I would have Stud for sure and maybe Chris and Mark, but no Shan.
Gabe Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 I'll take an outside shot at WOS Kevin Smith, Terrance Brown, Earl Thomas, Quinton Tezeno
Guest ECBucFan Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 Nobody. As much as I appreciate the talent and hard work of individuals, I am totally TEAM oriented.
WOSHIGHc/o2001 Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 I'll take an outside shot at WOS Kevin Smith, Terrance Brown, Earl Thomas, Quinton Tezeno This is why I didn't want to try it. No Chris Cole??
Gabe Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 Or Ledet, or Hope, or Beasley or Kerry Franks (either of em), or DPG (who is the all time leading rusher) or even Hooks...geez man.
Green and Bold Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 Or Ledet, or Hope, or Beasley or Kerry Franks (either of em), or DPG (who is the all time leading rusher) or even Hooks...geez man. Or Ernest Anderson or Eric Williams or ........ impossible task.

The Strongest Man Alive?!? You are way off with anyone other than Mark. I understand this is the football forum, but there were no boundaries in the question like in the other threads. I'd say Chris is the maybe, but just because I don't know much about him.
BigD 95 Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 WOS list should be - Dan Hook (highest winning percentage of any head coach iin Texas), Cornell Thompson (the greatest defensive coordinator ever), Tremain Lewis (still works with the future stangs, a real difference maker, not to mention a state championship QB), and Kevin Smith (had the most football success of any mustang thus far, super bowl champ).

speveto Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 for WOS, my vote is for "JOSH TIMS". HE WAS THE MEANIST HIGH-SCHOOL FOOTBALL PLAYER I HAVE EVER SEEN.
AggiesAreWe Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Where is your list Aggies? If we are talking just football, it would be: Raymond "Stud" McGallion, James Hunter, William Graham, and Bobby McGallion If it's all sports, then I would replace Graham and Bobby with Darryl McArthur and either Chris Barnes or Mark Henry.
McLovin Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 So you would put Bobby before Craig?!?
AggiesAreWe Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 So you would put Bobby before Craig?!? Oh yes. Bobby was an all state QB, holds all of Silsbee's passing records, and was an all SWC QB at UH, along with being a very good head coach of the Tigers that has led them to 7 playoff appearances in his 11 years as head coach of Silsbee. Craig was a very good player, just not on the level as his older brother.
