teeboan Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 In Texas, high schools play under NCAA rules. The horse collar tackle was outlawed last year.
RustedCutlass Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 Last year or this year, it is a good move.
tvc184 Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 The article isn't a year behind. The article is about the rest of high school sports is now catching up with the NFL and the NCAA which Texas goes by. I think the rest of the states us the National Federation high school rules and that is what changed. It has no effect on Texas.
BigWolf10 Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 I was wondering if this was a rule last year. I witnessed a few tackles that could have been considered horse collars. Good rule though. It's important to protect the players.
