Any info on how the each team played in this game?  I was not able to make it, so I am kind of leaning on the information I receive in this forum on detailed information (opinions/facts) on this game.  THanks!

Great game on the part of both teams. Kountze jumped out quick in this one by the score of 12-2, but Anahuac battled back to cut the margin down to four as Kountze led by 4 at the end of the 1st. Kountze starters Roman Walker and Domingo Smith (PG) both picked up two fouls in the 1st quarter and sat THE WHOLE 2nd quarter in which I was thinking Anahuac would run away with the game but they didn't. Although Anahuac began to heat up in the 2nd quarter with Rivon & Boykins hitting from beyond the arc, Anahuac only led by 4 at the half. The 3rd quarter was pretty much back and forth in which the score remained close and Kountze led 63-61 at the end of the 3rd. Anahuac in my opinion, shot as many 3-pointers as 2-pointers and that is where I believe the game shifted. The early part of the 4th quarter would have the Lions going on a run as Walker & Milton Williams took over and the Anahuac press was no longer a factor as Kountze broke it with ease which led to many easy buckets. The 3-pointers were no longer falling for Anahuac, but they continued to shoot them. Turnovers also became a factor for the Panthers as fatigue set in and West had to play some inexperienced players who carelessly turned the ball over. With 2 minutes to go in the game Kountze led 80-67. Rather than pulling the ball out and burning some clock, the Lion players continued to shoot which allowed Anahuac to score more points but they were not able to cut the deficit down to less than 7. As I said earlier this was a great game for both teams and luckily no one came away with any injuries. Both teams will do well in the playoffs.

Good, hard fought game.  Anahuac was down by 10 within the first 1:30 and played catch-up all night.  I think they had the lead only once in the game.  Anahuac's shooters were cold early and they missed several layups but Kountze was responsible for some of that.  Anahuac had some trouble with the Kountze press which was a little surprising since this was their 3rd meeting.  Definitely not Anahuac's best showing but Kountze deserved to win this one.
