KFDM COOP Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 La Vega football star in jail again By Erin Quinn | Tuesday, February 24, 2009, 08:19 AM La Vega High School football standout Christopher Parr is back in jail today on a charge of injury to a child, stemming from an incident where police say he provoked a fight with a 14-year-old boy. He is being held in the McLennan County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond. The charge is a third-degree felony. According to a criminal complaint affidavit filed by the Bellmead Police Department, Parr, 17, went last Wednesday to a boy’s house on Clover Street in Bellmead. The affidavit states that the boy suffered a laceration above his right eye, and contusions to his ribs from Parr kicking him while he was on the ground. The affidavit does not state whether the boy went to the hospital as a result of his injuries. Parr had bonded out of jail a month ago on a burglary of a habitation charge. Two months before that, prosecutors had dropped charges against Parr in an August aggravated robbery arrest.

cornhusker Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Some schools will do anything to win. It has happened here locally recently.
GUNHO Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 With this kids track record...he is on his way to the big time or should I say BIG HOUSE.It is a sad thing.
Bobcat1 Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 How many chances does someone get. Good grief.
adminbaberuth Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Story says he was a football star. Had he signed with a Big 12 school already? Is La Vega a 5A school?
tvc184 Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 Story says he was a football star. Had he signed with a Big 12 school already? Is La Vega a 5A school? Just like a local player that signed with a Big 12 after two arrests locally. So as not to change his ways after being given probation, he played as a true freshman and then got arrested for breaking into a car and then an armed robbey. After the two arrests locally (with the coach letting him continue to play), it makes you wonder how far they will sacrifice or cover up for a win. It also lets you see that if a person isn't held accoutable for his actions at an earlier age, you can't really be that surprised when he doesn't change his ways later.
speveto Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 I would advise this young man to transfer to La Marque, Remember Rodney Gowens.
