DaytonDad09 Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Though they lost, Dayton can take a lot of positives out of this one. One, Frank Smesny was untouchable in his pitching with great control. Two, defensively Dayton played great with Walker playing a great third base in for Kubasik, Crowder caught an excellent game and Kolarik pitched great in his first work of the year. Just need to get the bats rolling and Dayton will suprise a lot of people in district in my opinion. Go Broncos!!!!!
JS Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 I talked with the Episcopal coach on the way out last night. He said his team was 28-3 last year. They are no slouch. You are right though--Dayton gets the bats going and we will be pretty good.
PURPLE 4EVER Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 How many innings did Kolarik pitch?
DaytonDad09 Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 I believe Kolarik went 3. Had some wicked stuff at the end after he settled down though
JS Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Walters went 2, Smesny went 3, and Kolarik went two--and those last two curve balls from Kolarik were indeed wicked
dayton Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Walters went 2, Smesny went 3, and Kolarik went two--and those last two curve balls from Kolarik were indeed wicked Good to see some pitching depth for the broncos... this has been an issue the past couple years... right??
Bronx Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 You are correct, dayton. Cameron Crapo should see some time on the mound as well.
DaytonDad09 Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 I'm sure Crapo will be in the mix this week for the Vidor tourney...
JS Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Episcopal had 1 hit last night in a full 7 inning game. We had 10-12 errors. But we had 3 hits and a couple of stolen bases. We were able to work the counts and get on but we couldn't cash in. The little mistakes cost us big. Look for it though broncos WILL be a force to be reckoned with. Its now or never After reviewing my books--Broncos had 3 errors in the field and one missed sign resulting in a score
St@t3b0unD09 Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Dayton did not have 10 to 12 errors whoever said that must not have been watching the game... we only had 5 errors..
