*D*P*fan Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Just so we get a little recognition... Deweyville played in the Hemphill tournament friday. We played Warren at noon and won 12-5. Then played Zavala at 6 and won 11-1. Great job today guys and lets come back out there tomorrow and play even better. Tomorrow's game will be against Hemphill at 5 o' clock.
Red Headed Stepchild Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 I saw these guys play last year and knew that were building something !
Bobcatfan4life Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 Tomorrow's game will be against Hemphill at 5 o' clock. I'm sure they didn't go back to Hemphill and play this game yesterday with the accident yesterday morning?
*D*P*fan Posted March 4, 2009 Author Report Posted March 4, 2009 No everything was cancelled. Track, powerlifting, softball, and baseball. The support his family, friends, and teammates have received throughout this has been a tremendous help. Softball has a game today in Hardin, and i believe track and baseball are returning to practice today. Keep the prayers coming.
cowboys Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 How is Deweyville responded from this tragic accident?
pirate supporter Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 How is Deweyville responded from this tragic accident? Everyone is supporting one another to get through this difficult time. All of the sports are back in action and the students are coping as well as can be expected. Please keep the Deweyville students and community in your prayers. It is still hard on all of them to look around and Destin not be there with them in person.
southland Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 I am so proud of Deweyville Students, Athletes, Coaches, Teachers, Faculty and Staff as well as our community. Destin was an awesome young man. He touched many lives. This was quite evident in the out pouring of love, prayers and people that have supported his natural family and his Pirate family. It was so kind and thoughtful for the many schools to send such beautiful flowers, and to keep his family as well as our community in their prayers. It really puts many things into perspective. His presence is definitely missed. His natural family and his Pirate family have a long road ahead of them, but they will all make it. Destin expects us too. A family shared the following sentiment in a card to the Lairsey family, I think it says it all: "In these troubled times God needed to add a 110% spark to Heaven's line up. Destin is who God chose. Now, Destin is on the Best team ever built." Destin's Pirate team will continue to miss him, but they will pull together and come out all right. We are all better people because we had the opportunity to know Destin.
