Guest coachacola Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 http://lamarcardinals.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/recaps/022809aaa.html No double-double from Jay Brown, but Miles had a double-double. LU's leading scorers were Miles (15), Hall (21) and Custer (13). Lamar out-rebounded UTSA by 9, had 12 assists and only 9 TOs, but was only hit 4 3-pointers compared to 9 by UTSA. UTSA also shot a lot more FTs than LU, with Brown and Worrell getting into foul trouble. Miles was only 1-8 from behind the arc, hopefully he'll improve on that in the future. Looking to next year, LU will probably have Custer, Hall and Nabors up front with Miles and Moton (or Nuno, Harper, Williams, EB Davis??) in the backcourt. Nwevo will play a lot behind Custer and we'll see how good the 3 new big guys will be. I think this season is about over. They'll probably make the SLC tourney, maybe even win a game, and could end up with 18 wins. Next year they'll only have 2 seniors and should be at least as good as this year's team.

The bad thing about Miles was that UTSA would not even run out on him when he shot a three. I was at the game and I can remember 4 3's that he took whith no defender on him. He missed three of those on being an air ball.
