Newton Vs. Gladewater Sabine

Where is Gladewater?

Not sure but they shoot the ball very well, they played in the HJ tournament and they have a great team, They will be hard to beat but I'm sure that if Newton just plays there game they will get the job done. Just dont give them too much room they can really shoot well from the outside.

UIL calls us Gladewater Sabine but no one from around here associates Sabine with Gladewater not even located in that town.  We are located between Gladewater and Kilgore north and south and Halfway between Longview and Tyler right off I20.  Community is called Liberty City.  We are about 20 minutes from TJC where regionals are being held so it will be packed.  Someone give us some info on Newton?  I heard they had a big kid and were athletic?  Looking forward to seeing another SETX team.

liar... their PG is 6'2'', and their 3-guard is only 6'4".  you nailed the other three, though.

We have had a decent year shooting.  One kid over 100 3's, one over 75 and another over 60.  We will make some 3's lol

usually you see a team that has a shooter if your lucky you get two, I saw your team play with four really good shooters, I was really impressed. Good luck in your game.

Will Gladewater Sabine be able to stop the post?

We have a 6'5 (they list him at 6'6" but that is probably a little high) or so post.  Other than our point guard rest of starters are over 6'2".  We haven't had a big problem with post play but I don't know if that is Newton's primary weapon?

Newton's two best players are the PG and C.  Keep them to reasonable games and you will beat them.  Let them have their way and they will beat you.  I did not get to see Sabine at the HJ tournament but from what I hear you guys have a great team, but so does Newton.  Should be a good one.

Sabine has been known to press.  Some games they do some they don't.  If Newton plays a zone it will be a long night for them!

The Region III-AA Tournament is actually at Tyler Junior College, not UT-Tyler.  Tip is at 5 pm.  They will clear the gym and New Waverly and Franklin will tip at 8 pm.  The final will be at 2 pm on Saturday.  Hope this helps.

There SG isn't to bad himself.. Johnny Brown can light the score board up. You better not let him see the rim because he can get hot and stay hot the whole game...
