For the second time this season the Orangefield Bobcats had to come from behind to beat the Lumberton Raiders and for the second time this season the Raiders saw Jacob Felts go deep on them. The Bobcats (9-1) rallied from being down 3-0 and went on to win 9-4. Junior Chase Angelle went the distance on the mound for OF and gave up four runs on six hits and struck out four. The Raiders (4-6-1) jumped on Angelle early and picked up three runs in the first inning. Wayne Stanley singled to lead off the inning and then advanced to second on a bad throw to first base. Ryan Hughes then singled to bring Stanley and Cory Lemaire home. Trace Freeman later singled to score West Bingham who had reached base on a walk and advanced on the Hughes single. The Bobcats answered right back in the bottom of the first with two runs of their own. Jace Statum got the inning started with a single and later came in to score when Felts singled to left field. Felts would score on a Quinton Evans sacrifice fly to right field. Lumberton struck for their final run in the top of the second. Stanley reached on a fielder’s choice and then advanced to second when Lemaire was hit by an Angelle pitch. Bingham then singled to bring Stanley home making the score 4-2 Lumberton. Angelle got the next two batters to fly out to end the inning. The Bobcats chipped into the Raider lead in the third inning. After two straight fly outs to left field, Angelle doubled and then came home on a Zach Peevey RBI triple to left field to cut the lead to 4-3. Quinton Evans then flied out to strand Peevey at third. Orangefield tied the game up in the bottom of the fourth. After a Josh Watson single, Derrick Evans and Statum both walked to load the bases. Jonathan Deramus then hit a grounder back to the pitcher but the throw to home was off and Watson came in to score. Felts then hit into a 1-2-3 double play to end the inning and leave the bases loaded. The Bobcats took the lead in the sixth inning with 5 runs. With the bases loaded Deramus doubled to the wall in the left center-field gap and Watson, Derrick Evans and Statum all came in to score to give the Bobcats a 7-4 lead.
